I arrived home from Utah early this morning. If Clark checks this blog - one of his new favorite habits - thanks for taking me to the airport so early. Everytime I pulled out the old camera Clark would say (in a rather sarcastic tone I might add) ARE YOU GOING TO BLOG THAT??? Well, not everyone is converted. When I asked to take his picture - this is what I got!!

Although I was gone a mere 36 hours - it was one that was filled with special experiences. First being at Clark and Wendy's is always like being in a deluxe hotel - fresh flowers in the room, great accomodations, wonderful food. The company was fabulous, Grandma, Terri, Clark, Wendy and Ben. The services for Carol were very nice and reconnecting with Ray, Gordy, Guy and their families was a priceless experience.

Speaking of those two cousins of mine here they are - Gordy on the left and Guy on the right. They both spoke along with Gordy's daughter Amy and Guy's son Brandon. A neighbor also spoke along with their sweet Bishop. We had some wonderful visiting and laughs at the funeral luncheon where they served - WHAT ELSE - Funeral potatoes. Clark and Guy were telling stories as fast as humanly possible, and Terri and Gordy were taking on the laughing duties. Oh we will miss Carol. A choice experience was going to Carol and Ray's afterward where Ray wanted each of us girls to pick one of the dozens of beautiful quilts that Carol designed, pieced and then quilted. We were all hesitant at first, but we each ended up carrying out a large bundle. Katie is keeping ours for safe keeping until we come in April so she said that she would take a picture of it and post it. It will go perfect in our house.

It was so nice to visit with Grandma and Terri!! They are quite a pair. The first night I sat on their bed (they shared Heather's bed) and we talked and gigglegd until I left them a little after 12:00 midnight - and at 1:00 I heard bursts of giggling coming from their room. Thank you Terri for being such a great daughter and friend to our mom. Being with the Smith side made me so appreciate the gift of humor, laughter and joy that has come through that blood line - THANKS GRANDMA!!! I think we are fun.

Katie wanted a picture with Grandma. She has sure enjoyed seeing her several times in the past few weeks. Robb and Katie came up from Provo and enjoyed the company and the delicious dinner by Wendy. I love being a jetsetter. I'm thankful that dad is so good at holding down the fort and those sweet girls - Rachel and Sarah are helpful and independent (and driving!!!) LOVE YOU!!!!
I must say that that looks like a really fun group that had a really fun time. I am glad that you were able to come up mom and see us. I had a really great time with everyone.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have you back mom!@!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo one is making a comment about funny Clark. I laugh every time I look at that picture!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny, b/c I was just going to make a comment about Clark then I saw your comment on here about it. It reminds of Jeff or others that were moody and have to deal with that picture for the rest of there life.
