5 Months Old!

Our sweet little 5 month old is busy busy busy and sweet sweet sweet.  She is so much fun.  She loves to be on her belly.  If you put her on her back she will immediately flip to her stomach and scoot herself around her blanket, using her feet and head.  Its so cute!  She is so smiley and loves laughing.  Bennett and Robbie can make her laugh really hard.  She loves to yell and yell loud.  I love it!  She loves toys, she always wants a toy in her hands.  Some of her favorite toys are her crinkly lion, her mini music player, and her chewy rings but she plays with everything!!  She loves books and is very interested in food.  She will try and grab anything we put into our mouths.  She loves to play with cups and has started drinking water out of a sippy cup.  Emary is so calm and content.  She is such a sweet and happy baby.  She rarely ever cries.  She loves her bedtime routine and is a champ of a sleeper.  She loves to be held and snuggled and we love it too!!  We are so blessed to have this sweet beautiful girl as ours forever.  She is marvelous!!  Bennett loves his sister, he loves to kiss her and hold her.  He plays peek-a-boo with her all the time.  She laughs and laughs at that boy.  Its so wonderful to watch them love each other!  She gets really excited when she hears Robbies voice.  Just like she did when she was first born.  I love to watch our sweet little girl and her daddy, they are so adorable!!

Parties, Parties, Parties and new recipes

We had several parties to attend this week.  After our Pie-o-neer party on Tuesday we had a Get together with the Bishop's and their wives at our house on Thursday.  I tried two new recipes - Balsamic Black Bean Salsa - you can find the recipe  here and brown sugar brie - you can find the recipe here.  They were fantastic.

Friday night was the cast party - lots of fun and then Saturday night was our ward party.  I had seen these cute cookies at a party that dad and I went to a couple of weeks ago and I had to make them.  They are two vanilla wafers - sandwiched with a grasshopper cookie, dyed green coconut, held together with frosting and topped with warm karo syrup to hold on the sesame seeds.  Thanks dad for the great photography.
Yesterday we were lucky enough to go hear Cammie Steimle speak before she leaves for her mission.  I made some new cookies for her open house - a variation on Monster Cookies.  Instead of using peanut butter you use Nutella.  They were good - but I really like the original better. Thanks to Something Swanky for the picture, the recipe and bunches of variations on MONSTER COOKIES!!!

Climb Every Mountain...and eat some pie while you're at it.

Jeff and I decided to start celebrating Pioneer Day here in Utah with an early morning hike up to Squaw Peak. It was a most gorgeous view overlooking the valley with its blue skies. We were even the only ones up at the top. Continuing with the festivities, we made a couple of meat pies for dinner and a strawberry pie for dessert. Our evening Pie-oneer Day festivities included having a few friends over to eat the pies and try out the new slackline Jeff and I recently purchased. (It's kind of like tight-rope walking, but on a thicker strap.) It was a fun day celebrating.

Oh Pie, What a Day!!

Sarah made us a great Razzleberry Pie - what skill.
We had a little Hamburger Onion Pie for dinner and then . . . .
Pie and Ice Cream for dessert - it was amazing!!

Happy Pioneer Day!!

Hope you are all having a great Pioneer Day.  President Eyring was interviewed for the occasion of Pioneer Day and mentioned our joint ancestor John Bennion and I thought you would like to hear the stories he related. John Bennion is my Great Great Great Grandfather.  President Eyring talks about the daily journals that John Bennion kept - you may have seen his published journals on our book case a picture of which is shown.  This is on my mom's mom side of the family.  The Bennions founded Taylorsville (that was for Dallin).  Looking forward to seeing any Pie-o-neer celebration documentation - Sarah and I are planning on making Razzleberry pie for tonight.  Pictures to follow.

WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE... IN A STAKE MUSICAL

Tonight is closing night for this year's Arcadia Stake Musical production. The video includes snippets of all the major songs in the show (with a bit longer segments for Sarah's numbers - this is the Cornwall blog, ya know). Most of the video was shot at the dress rehearsal, thus other photographer's heads and movements are in a number of the scenes. Also the lighting didn't seem to be compatible with the camera settings at times - sorry about that.

Home Video: sew...i made a dress

While we were staying at the 336 Inn, Reesa decided to begin her life of domesticated matrimony by sewing her own dress. With a little help from Mom, a beautiful dress was created. I took advantage of an opportunity to practice my videography skills to document such a momentous event. Here is the result:

Priest Point Park

Finally we come to last of the shots Reesa and I took in Washington with the fam. Unfortunately, some of these were lost in the shuffle of cards so these are all that remain.  These were taken on the banks of the Puget Sound below Priest Point Park.
