St. George

This past weekend, I had the privilege of journeying to St. George, Utah for some art education conferences. Unfortunately, I went by my lonesome, but I still had an enjoyable time.

On Thursday I had a training for the grant that funds my job. We did earthworks art. While everyone was making designs out of rocks, I created this.

The main event was the UAEA conference where all the art educators from the state gather and teach each other the cool things we've been doing in a workshop format.

Along with the temple visitor center (the temple was closed for maintenance), I also took a tour of Brigham Young's St. George residence.

It's painted green because the initial paint that was sent for the temple ended up being green. It was too expensive to send back so they just used it for the houses.

AZ. BIRTHDAY

Dad's birthday was so much fun he could hardly stand it.
The day started with fresh grapefruit and squeezed o.j. from Grandma's trees.

After church at Grandma's ward it was off to the group b'day get together at Aunt Terri's. Most of the Arizona cousins stopped by.

GRAND PLACE

Grandma spent the last 9 months of 2011 remodeling her home with new cabinets, counters, carpet, paint, furniture and accessories. It is one very lovely, comfortable place. She had lots of help from Terri, Melanie and Amy.
We counted ourselves very fortunate to stay there for the weekend.

PRIMED FOR PRESIDENTS DAY

The 3 day weekend gave daddy a good block of time for our latest project - PAINTING 336. Daddy says we are about 8 years late in getting to this.
The south side is the worst because it gets beat on by the sun all day. It takes a couple of weeks of scraping, a week of decayed wood repair, a couple of weeks of putty, a couple of weeks priming the bare wood spots and then we may start putting some finish paint on. It will take two or three weeks for two coats.
Then daddy will start the process over on the east side of the house and then maybe the west face of the carriage house (which is pretty bad too).
The siding and light green trim will be the same color. Some of the other colors we are experimenting with some slight changes.

So here is a video of clips of Emary's life from a few seconds old to going home. This is not meant to be a short highlight (although it was edited quite a bit) but it is for those that want more and can't get enough, we wanted to include as much as possible.

A few pictures from our Valentine's Day!

Robbie has a video in the works but that takes a little time and we don't have much of that these days!  So here are a few pictures from the last week.  We will make a more formal post when we get a chance, which might include some from a little photo shoot!
Emary in the car seat leaving the hospital.

Here is Bennett waiting for her to arrive with some pretty pink balloons!
This is the outfit shet came home in.  She looked so pretty.
This was a rather short photo shoot because she had a pretty long day.  She doesn't cry much so I figured I better capture it.  She is such a sweet baby!  He brother has been loving saying her name and asking her if she is ok when she cries.  Its so cute.

Fun, Fun, Fun

Earlier in February we had a fun family outing to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Everyone loved seeing the fish, turtles, sharks, and penguins.
(Dad, if you have any pictures from our trip to the Aquarium and that huge pizza on our way home from Jason's mission I wouldn't mind seeing them.)

Elizabeth had a Valentines Party for all her new friends.  We made valentines, heart hair clips, decorated heart cupcakes, and played games.

Last weekend Dallin had some business in San Francisco so we went into town with him and enjoyed a wonderful walk along the bay to see the Golden Gate Bridge and of course a Ghirardelli chocolate.
