Love Being With Paisley!!

We hadn't seen Paisley in two weeks and she continues to grow up and get more beautiful. Grandpa Cornwall couldn't get enough of holding her. I think she liked it!!!

Happy New Year - Chinese that is!!!

It was a fun Family Home Evening tonight!!! Dad, Mom, Rachel and Sarah headed to Palmdale to celebrate Chinese New Year with the Jason Cornwalls. The evening started off with a delicious dinner - Fried Rice, Wontons, Egg Rolls, Orange Chicken and Sliced Oranges. What do you do for a Chinese New Year Family Home Evening? Play Chinese Checkers of course. Rachel was the winner - that is why she gets her picture taken with the board. It was a very fun night!!!!

A Day to Rejoice

It was a wonderful Sunday in Provo. The ward choir sang an arrangment of "Sweet is the Work, My God My King." It went well except for when the men didn't come in on the third verse. It just made me laugh. Katie Rogerson played the piano, so we were the "Katie Show." We didn't plan to match but we did so we had to take a picture.
After church we had ward choir practice with about 30 people. They sounded great. I encouraged them to come every week. We would be amazing if they all came. They probably only came because the choir was weak today.
I also had a Relief Society Presidency Reunion with the girls from my Freshman ward. Lisa on the right is turning her papers in, Michelle second from the right went ring shopping on Friday and was accepted into BYU's Law school along with her future fiance, Sister Rencher (center), Julia was married in November, then me. We had a grand time chatting and catching up. Those women have been such wonderful blessings in my life. So much of who I am is because of them.

Trust in the Lord

Today we had a wonderful Sacrament Meeting! We have two marvelous speakers - I think they were related - Sarah Cornwall and Bishop Cornwall. They both talked about Trusting in the Lord. Sarah used Proverbs 3:5-6 as the basis of her talk. She used the story of Elijah and the widow of Zarapheth both exhibiting Trust in the Lord. Sister Laurel Lawrence - the wife of our visiting General Authority Larry Lawrence last fall said that every story in the scriptures is really about Trusting in the Lord. Sarah talked about as youth following the "For the Strength of Youth" booklet for youth these days is really an act of faith. Dad was truly masterful using the Psalm of Nephi in 2 Nephi chapter 4 and how so many of people in the Book of Mormon showed Trust. He counseled us to build a foundation to be able to trust. Those foundational steps were
1. Know and Do His Words
2. Pray morning and Night
3. Humility
4. Contrite and open to Lord's Spirit

The blessings that we will feel if we do Trust in the Lord are:
1. Christlike Love
2. Confounding of Enemies
3. Have the Lord's Messengers minister to us and carry us to a high mountain.
I hope this family can take this patriarch's advice. The blessings are just too good to pass on.

Celebrate Womanhood

Lift Up Your Head and Rejoice, and Put Your Trust in God. Mosiah 7:19
That was the title and scripture of the Arcadia Stake Enrichm
ent Meeting held today. The keynote speaker was Nola Neeley.

We had a bit of a scare Friday night - she called our house with a horrible case of Laryngitis. She called to ask if I might be prepared to say something if she couldn't. Ken Neeley gave her a blessing and believe me I was praying hard for a complete recovery and she did great in true Nola style. She started off by saying that there was one time in her life when she wasn't so excited to be a woman - She saw her husband get up every morning, get dressed up nice and leave. She was home with four mischievous boys, laundry and mess everywhere. She called her mother-in-law, Maude Elizabeth Groberg Neeley and told her how she felt. Maude said - You don't want to be doing what the man is doing - love what you are doing. Then she went on to tell Maude's story. It was really special. Her voice kept getting stronger and stronger. She did a great job. Next I went to Karin Crawford's class, Finding Happiness and Joy. She had 10 steps to achieve that - if you want more details drop me a line - it was fantastic. Then President and Sister Heslop talked about going to the temple. It was a renewing day for me and women in our stake. Helen Moore and Michelle were there - since I had my camera with me I snapped a picture of Michelle with Melissa and Nadina Guerrero

It was a beautiful day - physically and spiritually. I feel renewed. I am going to follow some of Maude Neeley's advice. We need to get those feelings (of always wanting to do better) a little more often and hang on to them a little bit longer every time.
The Church is true!!!!

Tricky Paisley

From the stares of Paisley at that cupcake we knew she must be related to us because you can tell how much she wants that chocolate! She must really have wanted it in order to get a fork and go for it! She is so advanced for her age!

From the Palm

We are bringing this to you from the palm. We are connected to someones wireless internet. This is so fun looking at the blog from the palm.

The Mighty Pez Hunter

Well, you may not be able to believe it - but Mom hunted down the latest PEZ find. It was at Target - I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the white stems. I called dad (he didn't answer) then I called Robb (he wasn't home), but while I was calling Robb dad called through and guided me through the final selection. If you think all the work is done you are mistaken - we are still looking for white stems with purple hearts. Happy Hunting!!!
See I'm Smiling
You want to know why I'm smiling? Because . . . Finals are over!! Yippee. It was a bit stressful this week, but we start anew Monday. Everything went pretty good, but we'll just see how good when it's in black and white. Thank you at-home Cornwalls for being so supportive. Jump for Joy!!!

Our Little Rainbow Brite

Today cute Paisley is wearing her rainbow outfit from her aunt Tracy. This is also the first time she has worn the light blue bow in her hair. She is very cute!

Singing on the Stage - just Singing on the Stage

It was American Idol at Young Men and Young Women on Wednesday night. They set up the karaoke machine and let the youth take off. Sarah took the camera because she wanted something to do because she wasn't going to sing - but Sarah did sing and Rachel ended up taking all the pictures. The girls will have to comment on the actual events - but I thought you would enjoy seeing some more pictures on the blog.

This is a side of Clarissa Heslop I have never known before. There might be something behind that quiet exterior!!!!

Sorry to put three pictures of Andy Hoopes - but he was so into it I just had to include it. Check out the picture below - I wonder where he got it?

What a great ward we live in. What great youth leaders to haul things and sacrifice to let the youth have good clean fun!! We love the Monrovia Ward!!!

My New Take On Posting Comics

My new take on posting is - let's post what we think is funny or adventurous (in the case of Mark Trails) instead of doing something every day out of habit (that might surely drop off). I started the blog in particular for the benefit of Jeffrey and those of you who were away - posting pictures etc. once instead of emailing you all separately, and Elder Cornwall probably won't have time to know about Mark, Andy and Cherry. See what you think about that. The reason I read the comics every day - without fail - every single one - is to increase my Old Testament Joke of the Week file. I have found so many that I probably have one for every day that I teach Old Testament in two years. The one above - is not really that funny to me - but it might get a smile out of a seminary student. I will probably post Old Testament comics and others ones that just have to be shared!!!!

There is room for Mark Trail too!!!!

Alright, we have new traditions, and this will help take off the pressure of doing something fun or taking a bunch of pictures. I will look so forward to daily posts of all of these things.
(P.S. I just "googled" in Mark Trail Comic)

Christs love for us

I read in 1 Nephi 19:9:

"And the world, because of the iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore scorge him, and he suffereth it, the and they smite Him and he suffereth it. Yeah they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men."

I love this because all these things happened because he loved us and was willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that we are "taken care of." I don't think we realize what he did for us or what anyone does for us for that matter.

New blog traditions propsal !!!

I propose that we start a few blog traditions to make things fun. I may not have a digital camera, but I have access to a computer and love to comment if you couldn't tell already. I think that some of the things that we can do is to all comment on the Foxtrot of the day. Dad will need to try and convert from paper to the computer. I am really excited about this one. It is so easy, I typed in Foxtrot on google and there it was copy and paste. Also we can talk about certain scriptures we read that day that we liked and why. These are some of the things that I have been pondering about lately. Mom, if you want to be our Foxtrot coordinator. Let me know if you like this idea or not

I think this is so funny b/c instead of making it kinda accurate he decides to really juice it up.
Comment and let me know your ideas

A Sunday Afternoon

This is a picture of our cute family last Sunday. Paisley looked so cute that we had to take a bunch of pictures and Jason looked so good in Jeff's tie. We have to take a lot of pictures in her cute outfits because unfortunately she is quickly growing out of them.

My Wildest Dreams Came True

It's hard to believe that my diploma is here. For 20 years I have gone to school and all I have to show for it is this piece of paper. (This is Jason not Stefanie even though I am signed onto her name)

It Fits!

I know what your thinking, This is the cutest baby in the world, true - but the sad part is she fits in her Christmas pajamas. At Christmas time they were way too big and now they are just right. My baby is growing up.

Important Announcement

I am proud to annouce that starting shortly the Whelchel/Cornwall household will have DSL and then I'm afraid there will be an abundance of Paisley posted on the blog. As it stands now with our dialup it is far to slow to get any pictures to actually upload but the SBC guy was here today and tonight our Electrical Engineer is going to install the DSL modem!! But SBC has said that we won't be operative until Jan. 30 but the SBC guy said to try because it may work! YAY!

Officially A YOUNG AMBASSADOR

Today at YA’s we received our famous YA BAGS. For those of you who don’t walk around the BYU campus everyday all the BYU performing groups have bags. I have always wanted one and thought I would never get the opportunity but the Lord has given me the desires of my heart. I can’t believe that tomorrow I can walk around campus with a BYU Young Ambassador bag. This backpack can expand to be a duffle bag that I can take on tour to carry all my stuff. I love being a YoungAmbassador.

Sarah's Roller Coatser

I had another project. I had to have 6 loops and have a marble go through the loops successfully and have the marble knock over a cup. It worked great and it was fun. I love you guys so much. Love, Sarah-lehnny.

No I Think This Says It All

Sorry Robb - I think this picture "Takes the Cake!!" We will definately have to delete this before next Monday.

NEED I SAY MORE?

I can already tell that this is going to be a good one. That picture alone makes me want to fall on the ground and start laughing. This will be the last post on this, It is the only thing I can do without a digital camera.

Jack is Black and Yes he is working with Hess

CLICK AND READ THE PICTURE FIRST!!!!!
This was in the Daily Universe of all places, however it does say that it was in the L.A. Times. I read the article and I was in stitches. What a combination Jack Black and Jared Hess I don't think that it can get any better. I love the fact that Jack Black is not only playing the role of a Wrestler, but a MEXICAN wrestler. It will be the hightlight of the this summers events. I just thought some of you Jack Black die hards to read up, I will be willing to camp out the night before to see this. Or make a special trip to CA. He says some pretty fun things you should read them. That is enough ROBBLOG for now

Only Two Hours Away

It appears that Our Elder Jeffrey has moved, with his last transfer, a hour closer to California. He is now in the CENTRAL time zone. Does this mean our prayers will get to him faster?
Dear Family,
How the heck are you? Just to let you know, I don't really talk in such a hard southern drawl. I just did that for fun. Marguerite's baptism is official for the 28th as long as she obeys the word of wisdom. I'm so excited for her. She is also very excited as well. It is so awesome to see someone really accept the gospel in their life. I just wish I could have met her before she started taking the lessons and found out the truthfullness ofthe restored gospel. I am startin to see it in Kathy Breene's life. We met with her again and had a great lesson. She has some pretty basic beliefs, but it is fun to tell people about things they have never heard before. We asked her that if she finds out this is true if she will be baptised and she said Yes. It is exciting. Since I don't have access to put pictures on the blog, I found some online so you can look at something. Well I will explain my week in my email so you can hear about the rest of my life then.

Sunday Thought

Beloved Family,
In class today a scripture was shared which, in part says that those who enter into "the fold" do so that "they may be a light... and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places." I pondered on the application of this to each one you, my family --- Mom, in her unquenchable energy and happiness in righteousness which envelopes all those around her; Jason & Stefanie in their steady trueness to the truth, Robbie in his unselfish love & giving of self, Katie in her diligence & faith, Jeffrey in his full time service, Rachel in her divine nature, Sarah in her joy in giving. All of you stand in your own special way(s) as witnesses at all times and in all things, and in all places. How thankful I am and inspired I am by all of you.
Much Love, DAD

Sarah Has a Sleepover

Well while rachel was at practice and home I was at Jessica Owens house. We watched a cable movie called the High School Musical. It was awesome and Kristen Kederoff is making a tape for me since she has tivo. So both Rachel and I had a fun slumber party at different places but the same time. Love all of you. And I miss you all.

Fantastically Fun Finals Fiesta!!- and sleepover.

From Friday night to Saturday night, I hosted pretty-much the funnest sleepover ever. Our intent in planning this shindig was to study, yes you heard it right, study. We all have history with Mrs. Harrison, and it's going to be a huge final next week, and since we all want to actually pass the final, we figured that this we could not do alone (and we figured it would be way funner to do together anyway.)
I had rehearsal for Kimberly Federoff's recital (that's a story-or a blog- of itself) so I didn't get back until about 7:00. We met at 7:30 and partayed! Admittedly, we didn't start studying until a little before nine, but we were so productive. When we were all studied-out, we set up the family room with miles and piles of pillows and blankets. We watched "Sleepover" (thanks Jeff) and it was so cute. We made mini-quiches after the movie. I raced upstairs to do my duties, then slept soundly. At 10:18. Sarah called from her party, and woke us up.
We made pancakes, eggs, and toast, it was pretty darn delicious. Then, we studied MORE, and started on the essays that we have to write for Mr. Guy. We were having so much fun together that we decided we needed to be together even more, and went out to lunch.
Peaches Cafe, off Myrtle was our choice, and it was delicious. We walked around, but then I had rehearsal (yet again,) and had to get everybody home by 5:00.
I'm wee partied out, but it was ridiculously fun. I'm sorry, but I am afraid that is untoppable!!

We are so stinkin' cute-before we left for the cafe.
Our delectable breakfast.
Aren't sleepovers so much fun!

I MISS PAISLEY!!! I MISS PAISLEY!!!

Would the parents of a Miss Paisley Ann Cornwall please post a picture of that girl. I just can't go much longer without seeing that beautiful face!! You can use the blog as an excuse to dress her up for a fashion show (try on all those clothes) - don't worry about dad's restrictions on the number of pictures - post as many as you want.

A trip to SLC

No this is not an engagment picture, although we both agree that we reallly like the picture!!! Marybeth did a great job of doing it on timer so it really turned out to be a really good picture. Marybeths roommate had some tickets to see the Joseph Smith movie in SLC. One of the people dropped out at the last minute and I was able to go along with them. We got there at the wrong time, but we only missed a few minutes in the beginning. It was very good the second time around. The church does a geat job on these movies. After the SLC trip we went to our Ward Opening Social. It was at the Bishops house, and we played many rounds of dodgeball there were 10 teams and then the winners of those teams played a big game at the end. The bishop had about 20 little balls it was so much fun. Marybeth overcame a 2 on 1 game to come out the victor she did so well. We had a great time. That is enough ROBBLOG for now.

Marybeth ran across the street with only 5 secs. remaining to cross the street I didn't go, she made it and I then followed when the coast was clear.
