So I guess this is the inspiration for all the horn playing.

Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Gordon B. Hinckley. Ten years ago, on his 90th birthday, my seminary class from that great Class of 2000 (shown above) decided to honor him by sending him a package containing their testimonies, and this picture. With those items we sent a description that told him we are standing in front of a black walnut tree that we planted in his honor. (You can barely see it - it was about pencil size in diameter and is just a few feet above Victor's head.) Since many of my students from that year check this blog I decided to show how much that tree has grown. I only hope our testimonies have grown along with it. Love you class of 2000!!!
On Friday night, Mb and I got to go to a Red Sox game. Marybeths mom bought the tickets for me for my Birthday and got them for when they were playing the Dodgers which she knows I like as well. It was a really fun game and it was fun to see another LA - Boston matchup. I am one of the few that Rooted loud and hard for the Lakers and then turns around and roots for the Red Sox.
Here is our few from our seats. The view was a lot closer than it appears to be hear. It was really fun to be there and to be right in the action. There were a lot of Dodger fans there and at one point they started chanting Let's go Lakers. Then Boston fans came back with BEAT LA!! It was really funny to be in the midst of all that.
They won of course and it was a really fun game with a couple of home runs and a fun atmosphere.
The best part of the night was all the looks Marybeth got at the game. Not only because she is 37 weeks pregnant but because of the shirt she is wearing. We saw it a few months ago and thought it would be fun for her to wear it to the game and so Mb's mom got it for her and it was a perfect shirt to wear to the game.
Here I am having a Fenway Frank, (I was thinking that both the Dodgers and the Red Sox are so lucky to have alliteration on their side, Dodger Dogs)
Marybeth was really excited to get ice cream for a couple of reasons. #1 she has loved ice cream as of late, and so that in and of itself was a treat, but she also wanted the souvenir that comes with it, which is a little red sox helmet. It brought back memories of the days when Marybeth used to go to the games, and something for our son to have in his room.
It sure has been fun/nerve racking to watch the Lakers over the course of the playoffs. After the first few games I was convinced that the Lakers would win the series, but then I started to get nervous. I am hoping for another great performance by the Lakers on thursday. Got to love technology. The game is really late for us "East Coasters." To try and compromise we use the old PIP to watch a chick flick with sound and the game without, everyone is happy.
