Oh YES!!

Yes I am 9 months pregnant.
Yes that is a pool in our kitchen.
Yes my husband did blow it up and fill it for me and empty it.
Yes I was craving a swim.

Yes I did "swim" in it, in the kitchen.

Yes it was absolutely delightful.
Yes that is Raw Cookie Dough.
Yes I did make it.
Yes I did leave out the eggs.
Yes I did eat every last bite.
Yes, now it is gone.
Yes I do want more.
Yes I am 9 months pregnant.
I love it!

CONCLUDING YOUTH CONFERENCE

There has been a Cornwall kid (and oftimes two Corny kids) at youth conference for the past 16 Arcadia Stake youth conferences. Sarah, once again, is the fine style finale. Next year, it seems, Dad will just have to go by himself.

There ended up being a few more photos than I wanted to post so I made a little slide show of some of the Youth Conference activities.
The soundtrack is from the Church's brand new youth web site https://beta.lds.org/youth/abny/download?locale=eng

Birthday Celebration

We had a two day celebration at our house for my birthday. Jason took Friday off so Paisley and I could go get our hair cut together. This is before

This is after. We both cut our hair to our shoulders. I think Paisley looks a lot older with short hair!

Then we made paninis on the George Foreman. It was a lot of fun and very tasty!

Jarom is just cute!!
The loot! Thanks everyone for the generous gifts! Jason was very clever and made me a necklace and ring holder. That is the frame with chicken wire inside, then I'll hang my rings and necklaces on S hooks. I'm excited to hang it in my bedroom and get all my bling organized! Thanks especially for the Austria package!! That was so exciting!!

100th Year Anniversary

Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Gordon B. Hinckley. Ten years ago, on his 90th birthday, my seminary class from that great Class of 2000 (shown above) decided to honor him by sending him a package containing their testimonies, and this picture. With those items we sent a description that told him we are standing in front of a black walnut tree that we planted in his honor. (You can barely see it - it was about pencil size in diameter and is just a few feet above Victor's head.) Since many of my students from that year check this blog I decided to show how much that tree has grown. I only hope our testimonies have grown along with it. Love you class of 2000!!!

What a Week!!

Our company has all left and we are feeling sad and lonely. It was so nice to have everyone come to celebrate our wonderful Sarah!

Strawberry Season

On Friday we went on our first, of hopefully many, trips to pick strawberries. Daniel obviously loved it and Elizabeth was so excited with every one she picked. Anyone is welcome to come pick with us.

Red Sox Game
On Friday night, Mb and I got to go to a Red Sox game. Marybeths mom bought the tickets for me for my Birthday and got them for when they were playing the Dodgers which she knows I like as well. It was a really fun game and it was fun to see another LA - Boston matchup. I am one of the few that Rooted loud and hard for the Lakers and then turns around and roots for the Red Sox.

Here is our few from our seats. The view was a lot closer than it appears to be hear. It was really fun to be there and to be right in the action. There were a lot of Dodger fans there and at one point they started chanting Let's go Lakers. Then Boston fans came back with BEAT LA!! It was really funny to be in the midst of all that.

They won of course and it was a really fun game with a couple of home runs and a fun atmosphere.
The best part of the night was all the looks Marybeth got at the game. Not only because she is 37 weeks pregnant but because of the shirt she is wearing. We saw it a few months ago and thought it would be fun for her to wear it to the game and so Mb's mom got it for her and it was a perfect shirt to wear to the game.
Here I am having a Fenway Frank, (I was thinking that both the Dodgers and the Red Sox are so lucky to have alliteration on their side, Dodger Dogs)
Marybeth was really excited to get ice cream for a couple of reasons. #1 she has loved ice cream as of late, and so that in and of itself was a treat, but she also wanted the souvenir that comes with it, which is a little red sox helmet. It brought back memories of the days when Marybeth used to go to the games, and something for our son to have in his room.

The big part of the game was the fact that Manny Ramirez made his first trip back to Fenway Park. I am indifferent, but I recorded the crowds reaction when his name was announced for the first time. It sounds like a lot of cheers but I think there were more boos. Plus you can get a nice close up of Mb's shirt. (The Loud guy on the video is the very drunk and obnoxious man that was behind us then in the wrong seats and moved next to us, yeah that was fun.)

A GRAND GRAD

Sarah follows in her scintillating sibling's footsteps, up the hallowed ramp in robe and cap and is officially ON HER WAY. It was a fitting and glorious send off to the Cornwall 25 year legacy in Monrovia schools. She did each of her alumni sisters and brothers proud.

While we are waiting to see Jarom tear through his cake.....

So last week they had a shower for me at work. It was great! My favorite and most creative gift was this social story for having a baby. For those who don't know what a social story is, its really just a behavior reminder in story form. So for example if a student has trouble using appropriate words during class we will write up things like," When I am in class I use nice words. This makes my teachers happy. Sometimes I get upset and want to use mean words but I remember that nice words are best." Or something along those lines. Anyway as a Behavior Analyst I suggest this method often for students who need visual reminders when I am consulting. So when one of the Speech Therapists and Special Ed Teachers gave this to me for my shower it was hilarious! I think my favorite parts are "I will use nice words and a quiet voice" a nice reminder that I might forget in the moment, and "After I do hard work for a long time..." We always use phrases like these with our students! Anyway I just thought it was so cute and funny. And you can bet it is going in my hospital bag! Haha!
Lets Go Lakers
(clap clap clap clap clap)
It sure has been fun/nerve racking to watch the Lakers over the course of the playoffs. After the first few games I was convinced that the Lakers would win the series, but then I started to get nervous. I am hoping for another great performance by the Lakers on thursday. Got to love technology. The game is really late for us "East Coasters." To try and compromise we use the old PIP to watch a chick flick with sound and the game without, everyone is happy.

well, well, well

a friend directed me to the utah valley marathon website for the results.

indeed, number eighty-two of four hundred and twenty-nine, in twenty-eight minutes and forty-one seconds, i'll take it.

(sorry for this interruption, we now return to our regular programming: jarom's birthday.)

Presents and Cake

Jarom loves opening presents! He loves his new hippo. It is a scooter and it has some blocks that go with it and it picks them up as he scoots over them.

Here is the cake! I made it during nap time, and it will soon be devoured!! Jarom seemed excited when he saw it. Paisley was very impressed! I thought it turned out great for my first crack and a shaped cake!

Happy Birthday Jarom!!!
