Hello from the Ohio

We finally have internet at our house! You know what that means - more posts from the Ohio! (It also means skyping; call me up my friends, we'd love to talk to you!) Anyway, enough of that.
Here is my ginger love - out the second back door (there's a communal entrance that leads to all four apartments and the basement.) Spencer found such a great place, and made it feel so homey when I got back from the airport.
How about some "before" pictures (well, "after" Spencer set up and "after" I got here, but "before" we got things settled.) That would be Dad's London suitcase he sent me along with from LA. I pretty much flung everything out of my suitcases to show Spencer since I mostly brought home new stuff and left a lot of stuff in Thailand.
Here's the extra bedroom. That work bench came from Spencer's parents' garage; our bikes will stay here until we can find a safer place for them (we're on the borders of the ghetto, which is why our rent is so cheap).
Here's the bedroom. Yup, those are all my clothes all over the bed. It's kind of a relief to be here in this apartment because we've been living out of suitcases for a while, (Spencer been doing that for much longer than I have) and it's nice to have everything unpacked. We'd like to introduce our babies: our new Calphalon Unison pieces. We love them. They need our care and attention. We use them everyday, and we fall more deeply in love with them everyday.
The kitchen! It's a nice space. (Thank you ladies from my bridal shower for the utensils and the metal holder! And thank you to everyone else for making our home so great!) Also, the rug by the sink was one I brought home from Thailand. (And yes, that is our "You are Special" plate . . . we haven't used it yet.)
Here's the kitchen area: Spencer got the red locker and the orange trash can; we bought the chairs (I love them) at an Antique place we like. (And thank you Terrills for the tablecloth - our kitchen table needs a little work, so we're using a card table, and the tablecloth covers it up very nicely.)The bathroom. We got our shower curtain at target; the rug is from Thailand; the painting is one I gave to Spencer for his birthday. Here's my love . . . our green couches. Spencer bought them early on in my trip to Thailand, so pretty much the whole summer I pined to sit with Spencer on these couches. We fully take advantage of them daily. (Insert anecdote: when the internet guy came to set up the cables, he walked into the living room and said, "I have never seen furniture like this before." Hilarious.)We're really lucky because, of the 10 fourplexes, we're in the back and so there's a nice yard outside most of our windows. We love our hardwood floors. Here's the other couch (with Daniel Everett's piece on the wall). The textile on the back of the couch came from Thailand as well. It's a more traditional Thai Lue style, and was handmade on the mill. It's one of my favorite designs I saw in all Thailand. Detail shot.
I got this blanket and pillow in Thailand.
 And this elephant.
And these bamboo baskets.
I like this space. Spencer's family provided the chairs and the mirror. We got the bookshelf at IKEA. It's been fun to see our stuff put on the same shelves and come together to make a nice little place.
The bedroom. (Thanks momma for the quilt.) We got our bed at Ikea and the curtain fabric is from Thailand.
The dresser, my dresser. The lamp base is from the Twelmeyer, we still need a real lamp shade for it. And the poor top drawer got smashed in transition. But I do love our dressers.
Here's the rest of the studio; we got our desk at the same place as the kitchen chairs, and the computer came from the Twelmeyers; Spencer bought the lamp (which doesn't work incidentally) off Craigslist.
And a selfie-portrait to finish things off. I am so grateful to Spencer for finding us such a nice place to live.

So . . . who's going to come visit us first?!
