Fun little night

We used some of our Christmas gifts yesterday. We went to see the movie the Blindside. It was really good. We both really liked it. With the gift card that we got from Mom and Dad we had some left over to buy some treats and Marybeth enjoyed that (being pregnant and all).
Then we got take out from Applebee's. Thank you Grandma for giving that to us we always love to go on a fun date and use that.
Then of course we watched the big BYU vs utah basketball game. It was big in the sense that I was hoping that is what BYU's lead would be. BYU is and was the better team so it is always BIG to beat them. I even pulled out my towel from last years game and whipped it around a couple of times.
As you know we don't have cable and especially not the MTN. but we were able to stream it from online and brought the TV upstairs to make it even better. It was a really fun game to watch. BYU got a little sloppy in the second half but a win is a win. And yes I am wearing my BYU tie to church today just in case anyone needed a reminder as to who won last night.

We both won prizes for our costumes. We pretty well rocked!

Here was a little gem that Jeff tried on while we were looking for our outfits. Surprisingly, he didn't buy it . . . I wonder why?

Before heading over we crashed my stake luau . . . for JDawgs.
We were also joined by our friend Kristen. We did NOT overstay our welcome

Becca and Andy (My First Wedding Photo Job)

Yesterday was my first wedding gig. I was nervous, but had confidence in my abilities. I got some good coaching from Marybeth and did a bunch of research of other great photographers. I thought it turned out well. Here are some highlights:

First Day of School

I don't know if this cute boy ever thought he would have another first day of school, but today is the day! He decided to take a couple computer classes so off he went tonight to his first class! He also has an online class. Paisley so far isn't the biggest fan of basically not seeing daddy on Tuesdays, but we'll plan some fun activities! In a couple of minutes we are going to have a pajama party with cake and my little ponies! Anyway, thought we would share this fun moment of Jason's life! Good luck honey!

Big Boy

Daniel always prefers to be standing. His newest trick is standing by himself in the pack-n-play.

Assemblage Art

Saturday's class went really well. We did Assemblage art which is essentially when you "assemble" found objects (things you didn't necessarily make) and combine them to create a piece of art. Here is an example of a professional assemblage artist:

Robert Rauschenberg, Canyon, 1959.
81"x 70"x 24"
(That is a real taxidermy bird covered in tar and a real sandbag)

Here are their materials.

Foam!

Older Class, in progress

Younger Class: One girl (my prodigy)
4' x 2'

Older Class: 4 kids
6' x 4'

SUNNY SAN DIEGO

Dad and I drove to San Diego for the sealing of my niece Brianne.
It was a spectacularly beautiful day and drive along the coast (especially after a week of heavy rain).
The San Diego temple is as stunning as ever
Lance - Teri - Brianne - Burke
Mike and Brittanie came over from Mesa.
Dad and I were honored to be there. Afterward we all went to lunch at a wonderful Mexican restaurant nearby. Grandma, Teri & Lance are spending the night at 336. The "kids", Mike & Brittanie, Brianne & Burke are spending the night at (the game place) Todd & Angela's. Tomorrow we will go to church at Monrovia and then a big nice dinner at Todd & Angela's is planned.

The LITTLE WOMEN

BIG VIDEO
This is for all you Cornwall little women and little men who were not here this past weekend. The video will give you a little taste of each scene and song of this exceptional Centre Stage cast. I hope you get a small relish of enjoyment, and pride in your littlest sister as mom and I did being there.

HERE ALONE...

Marmee holds the family together through fun and trial while father is at the war. We get a peek inside this strong mother of the March family in the beginning of the story in a quite moment when she shares her heart.

Friday night's show (really opening night for Sarah's cast) was sensational. It was a sell-out crowd, packed into the aisles. 30 were there just to see OUR little woman.

Today is full with Little Women. Call is at 9:00 am for Sarah and Mom to prepare for the 'tea' prior to the matinee. (Mom can serve 120 with the snap of her fingers it seems.) Then Sarah's cast is at 2:30 pm and the closing show at 7:30 pm.

Installation # 1

Here is my first installation piece. An installation essentially is a multifaceted sculpture or a sculpture with multiple pieces. Often these pieces are not necessarily made by the artist, but compiled by him/her and then set up in a specific space. Some Installations are site-specific meaning that it's location is the only location the world that it would work; it was designed to be "installed"in that exact location because of dimensions or geographic significance. This piece that I made with my group is not site specific. It could be installed in any space that is dark. It is a little difficult to tell what is going on since it is so dark. Obviously there are black lights on the floor illuminating the piece. There is a cage of string that is hung from a frame that we built. Last there is a fan that is hanging from a single source in the middle. It is blows and spins around causing movement in the strings making a very cool effect. It was well liked by all.

SOME THINGS ARE MEANT TO BE...

This little video does not highlight our Sarah - it is between Beth and Jo and is one of the great numbers of the musical.
This clip is pieced together from two shows - on the tech dress rehearsal there is occassional background talking - on the Wed. morn show Beth's mic was not working. But the song is still wonderful.

p.s. It was a VERY rough (tech. noisey) night to video. Hopefully we will have another opportunity to get a few nice clips and put a video-log together of this great Centre Stage production.
