Happy Indeed!!!!

Happy Halloween
Look what I found on my doorstep this morning. It made this Halloween happy indeed. I sat there salivating over the ones that Mom made (as well as those others). Then to walk outside this morning, breathing in the fresh air in my bathrobe, Shouting Oh What a Beautiful Morning, and find this too what could be better......single.
I could not wait to sink my teeth into those beautiful pumpkin, M & M, Sprinkles, orange frosting, Sugar cookies. Mom thanks for the memories and thank you Katie and Dallin. I made you guys some pumpkin bread, but it uh...... I uh..... burned it. I will get you next year. Happy Halloween..... Who else is going trick or treating tonight?

WILD WEST HALLOWEEN
Yip-ee!

Big night for a Big Guy in our Community

Last night was our Why I Believe Fireside - hosted by the Missionary Department of our ward. This was our second annual Community Recognition Award evening. Last night there were three recipients - Trader Joes Corporate Offices for all their donations toward our Scout 4th of July Fund Raiser. Ed Gilliland who serves on our Monrovia Unifed School Board and good old Mr. Fil Lujan for all his work over the years. It was a lovely evening. In his acceptance speech Mr. Lujan even mentioned the Cornwall Special. Those were special days alright. He had a great influence on you older Clifton kids. We love and appreciate him and all the others who work so hard for MONROVIA!!! (man I look tiny)

Halloween is coming

We are missing you kids that are far away. Looking foward to hearing all your Halloween reports.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FAVORITE CORNWALL NIECE
We love you
Miss Paisley Ann Cornwall

WHAT COULD BE MOW BEAUTIFUL...

I may be thinkin' a little like Robb in his Beck post in that I don't know if this is important to anybody else - but I'm pretty excited about it. The project - started almost a year ago when I killed the devil grass that was infiltrating the back yard - is finally looking a little bit nice. After the complete re-sod - which was supposed to provide a nice lawn for Katie's wedding - may finally get there for Robb's wedding after enduring a 100 year record hot summer, fungus, re-sodding and reseeding ( not to mention getting rid of 3 racoons, 1 skunk and 1 possum).

With such a nice lawn, it deserved a first class mower. The left rear corner of the 20 year old relic rusted right through a few weeks ago so the handle had nothing to bolt to. No problem - a little scrap sheet metal, 50 pop rivets, a sharpened blade and she is better than new (almost).
FOR ALL YOU HALLOWEEN COSTUMERS

One of the great blessing of being an MDT major is taking the make-up class. In class we just learned to do fake noses, cuts, burns, blisters, and bruises. These are pictures of my final product. Some people in my class went all out and gave themselves a black eye and scars all over their face. I chose to be a little more simple.

SO
, if you are working on your Halloween costume and need some advice on make-up tircks you now know who to contact.

Beck wins the Cingular All-America Player of the Week award

Thats right our very own John Beck is the Cingular all-american this week. It has been all over the place. I would have voted but it seemed like the only way to vote was to text message the vote, and seeing as though I do not have that I did not participate. The link is below but for those you do not want to read it. Beck got 39% of the votes, and guess who was behind him with 37% of the votes. Yep that is right, Mr Brady Quinn from Notre Dame. It is awesome, he can be one of four finalist chosen to be the National Cingular all-american of the year.

The main reason why I want to share the news is for this funny story. Beck has the life if he goes hunting during the week. But he shot his first Buck. "Senior quarterback John Beck bagged the first buck of his life Tuesday morning just outside of Scipio and made it back in time for team meetings and practice. He did pull his pickup truck to the Student Athlete Center and show teammates his kill"But the funniest part about it is what Becks dad tells him, it is so typical of Dads. Stand aside son this is too dangerous for you. I thought it was funny, read below;
Wendell Beck prohibited his son from cleaning the deer, fearing he'd cut his hand. "About 10 minutes into cleaning the deer, my dad cut his hand," Beck said.

Our Trip to Oregon

This is the Tillamook cow! We went to the Tillamook cheese factory, took the tour, ate the samples and then some ice cream. Paisley had her first taste of frozen yogurt here but didn't seem very impressed. That doesn't reflect on the ice cream though because it is yummy!
This is "Haystack Rock" in Cannon Beach Oregon. This as been a popular family vacation spot since the 60's. We only walked out to the "rock" once to see the tide pools.
Paisley had her first taste of pickle in Oregon and she LOVES them! We had to be careful because even without teeth every once in a while she still managed to get a bite of it.
This is a family and a 4 generation pictures. My Grandmother (Dad's mom) is in the middle. She is 96 and lives in Lake Oswego.
After we picked up Grandmother we went and ate lunch on the Willamette river. It was beautiful. We were surprise at all the colors of leaves on the trees. It was a taste of the east coast.
Here we are eating some Tillamook ice cream at a restaurant in Cannon Beach. It was very good.
We went to Seaside on Friday. This is where Lewis and Clark found the ocean and turned around. In honor of their attempts there is a statue. You are unable to see but under their legs is a HUGE dog. Jason and I joke that no wonder they made it through freezing nights, they snuggled up with the big hairy dog. We had a great time and were sad to see the vacation end. Good thing we have another one coming in 26 days and counting!!

The Last 2 1/2 months in a little under 7 minutes

This was fun for Katie and I to review. I just picked some fun music so it would be more enjoyable to watch. Most of the pictures you have seen but every now and then you might see a "never before seen picture."

Does the best job ever, ever taper off?

That is right, it is starting to get a little cooler so I was provided with this little BYU beanie, it was not cold enough to wear it during the game on saturday, but you better believe I will wear next game. against Wyoming on thursday NIGHT!!!
No, I wasn't lucky enough to get two, but I did get two in one, It is reversable!!! It is really cool and really warm. I am looking forward to the next game. There is "Brigham Young" on the back of the White, and Cougars on the blue.

The hat, you have seen before, but maybe never on my head. However, to help prevent further injury, We all got some of these nice gloves to help raise up the nets. They are kinda sticky to help the football players catch the ball. They are really fun to wear the only thing is they kinda stink.

I don't know how much you can see this, but right along the upper palm you can see where it has been worn as well as the fingers. I must say since I have aquired these my hands have been so grateful. These are some of the latest and greatest from the best J-O-B around

BYU HOMECOMING PARADE

On Saturday morning Amber, Valerie, and I went to the homecoming parade. We had a blast watching cosmo, the cougar band, President Samuelson, cougarettes, and even Valerie's Grandpa. It was warm and beautiful. The fun part was that almost every entry in the parade threw candy. The kids next to us had bags already to go. It was a great homecoming week for our cougars.

Visiting other MONROVIA FRIENDS

Two Sunday's ago the Anderson's invited us over for dinner, so we left a little early so we could make a stop and see Sister Vaughan on Temple Square. We looked for her for about 20 minutes without any luck when one Sister told us Sister Vaughan had a meeting at the South Visitor Center at 6:00 and if we hung out around there then we would see her. That is exactly what we did and we saw her but only for a few minutes. She is going to Hartford, Conneticut and I wouldn't be a good wife unless I noted that it is the best mission. Dallin told her it was really cold. She is doing very well and looks so good. She is well loved on Temple Square. Every Sister we talked to said "we love Sister Vaughan, she is the greatest." I would have to agree.
Dinner with the Martinos

Dallin and I had the Martino's over for dinner. Emily looked so cute with her six month tummy. We ate and talked and had a wonderful time talking about good old Monrovia.

One of Things is Not Like the Other!

After I took a picture of the family on Sunday Night (see post below) I started taking pictures of our Halloween decorations and thought you might all want to notice that one of these pumpkins is not like the other - it could be our puzzle of the day. Comment in your answers!!

Slow Week - Slow Sunday

I was writing Jeff and looked on Zoom Browser to see what pictures I would send to him (something I do every single week) and I have taken a total of one picture this week - yes one picture the entire week - and that was my chicken pot pie!!! What a sad thing - so I walked around and took a picture of what our family was doing on Sunday night - Dad was talking to Robb, Rachel was combining stretching with scripture reading and Sarah was getting her school work organized for tomorrow. I thought it was blog worthy (dad may not think so). It was a good excuse to take some pictures.
