336 Morning

Between 1st Breakfast and 2nd Breakfast the folks at 336 took a hike to the Monrovia Falls.  Canyon Park was not open so the hike was extended from Norumbega to the falls.  It was a popular activity for many on the trail.

Monrovia Ward 75th Anniversary

Today was a special day in the Monrovia Ward.  A special Sacrament Meeting service was held to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the forming of the ward.
Ten former Bishops were in attendance.  We were able to hear from most of them.  These are some of my favorite men on the earth (especially the one of the far right, second row)
We hadn't seen Bishop Monson for a very long time.  Here is the Monrovia East Ward Bishopric together again.   Sacrament Meeting was held last so that there could a time to visit.  There were many faces that we enjoyed seeing again.

Monsters Inc. Clips!

So we weren't going to post this and then we figured we might as well but our computer and vimeo have both been having issues.  So this video is a little rough at the transitions but here it is!  Enjoy!

I mostly agreed to this because Boo is so adorable!  And Mike is pretty darn good at his lines!

Piano Recital

Elizabeth is taking lessons from her cousin, Emily.  She practiced and practiced and played it PERFECTLY.  (The video feature on the camera was being funny so I couldn't get the whole song, but she did great.)

Elizabeth lost her first tooth on Halloween night.  Not from candy but from a good tooth brush.  She was born with that tooth so this was the first time seeing her without that tooth.  (A fun side note is Hannah has had a tooth come in and it is the same tooth that Elizabeth lost.)

Final Scenes

Our last day in Missouri was filled with fun.  Jarom and I walked Paisley to the bus stop.  What made Paisley going to school tolerable was Grandpa and I went and had lunch with her.  We sat at table 8 with her entire class and had a wonderful time learning what second grade is like.
Had to make some cookies - MONSTER COOKIES YUM!!!
After school Jarom and Paisley showed off their biking skills.  We were so sad to have to come home to 336 after such a special time in Missouri.

Independence Visitor's Center

Sunday morning we were able to attend church at the Blue Springs 1st ward. After Sacrament Meeting we were able to watch Paisley and Jarom perform perfectly in the Primary Program Practice. Good luck tomorrow!! In the afternoon we took Jarom and Paisley and drove to the Independence Visitor's Center where we surprised Sister Sarah Anderson, daughter of Karen and Jeff Anderson. We had seen her in Monrovia just a couple of days before she entered the MTC in August. She seemed to recognize us and was happy to see us. We had found out at the Liberty Jail what her schedule was. She is a beautiful girl and a great missionary. We texted a picture to Karen Anderson and she promptly called. Maybe a little too much closeness for Sister Anderson.

Liberty Jail

Saturday night we went to Liberty Jail.  Dad and I were figuring that the last time we were there was on our Motor Home trip in 1995  which was 18 years ago.  It is hard to believe that it was that long ago.

It's Great To Have A Grandchild Whose 8!

Grandma and Grandpa flew to Missouri early Friday morning - Nov. 1st to be at Paisley's baptism the next day in the Blue Springs 1st Ward. .
The service was all planned by Paisley's family.  Paisley wore a "vintage" pretty. white smocked, cotton dress, made by Grandma Cornwall.  (All of Paisley's Cornwall aunts were baptized in this special dress.)

After the baptism Paisley had a new dress, just for her that Grandma Cornwall made.  It was of satin and chiffon, with a ribbon tie.
Jason did a great job performing the baptism and confirmation.

Paisley had both sets of grandparents in attendance and both were very proud.

For her 8th birthday and baptism Paisley received a beautiful set of scriptures.... and a fun-n-fancy scripture case in which to carry them.

The Red Barn

Before all the Halloween posting goodness, a new tradition was formed with our second trip to the Red Barn for some good ol' pumpkin patching. Our dear friends the Robertsons, who we went with last were, came as well.  We made sure to arrive during daylight hours so we could take advantage of all the fun activities there. It was the most beautiful Fall day with blue skies and a crisp chill in the air.

One of the many attractions by the pumpkin patch was a maze. It was rather fun to race each other through.

I think Jeff was most excited about the huge slide. Last year, he and Paul were as giddy as little school boys as they went down over and over again in the dark. They thoroughly enjoyed it this year as well! As you can see by the state of my hair, you go down pretty fast!

We had so much fun racing around in these little tractor go-carts. We were out of breath by the time we had made it around the dirt track a few times! Jeff and Paul were loving it so much. They had to race each other, of course.

The grande finale was picking the perfect pumpkin. After searching high and low we decided on a nice round, orange one.

Family photos at the pumpkin patch! I don't know why I'm standing in a hole next to Jeff, I'm not really that short. And look at those Robertsons, aren't they the cutest? Yosemite in her little pumpkin hat...it's almost too much.

It wouldn't be Halloween season without a trip to the Red Barn for some pumpkins. We're so glad we could go with such a fun patch.. I mean bunch.
