Grandpa and I were able to take a trip to Cabelas with the Andersons. It is a great place to hang out with kids. We covered every square inch and had loads of fun. We saw enough stuffed animals and camouflage to last a decade.

Happy Birthday Amazina
We are going to jump the gun a little bit for out Ancestor Birthday Spotlight. We were a little lean in our May birthdays, there were only two; Susan Burnett Brunt and Inez Player Smith. There are 10 June birthdays so we will start a few days early. Today we will highlight the grandmother of Inez Player Smith - Amazina Lees Player. She has a most unique birth story. Her birth is included in detail in the history of her father, John Lee quoted below.
"In April 1853, with the rest of his family, he (John) joined a group of Mormon emigrants who were coming to America from England. The trip from England to New Orleans took three months' time. Upon his arrival in New Orleans he immediately started for Utah. He traveled up the Mississippi River on the boat Amazon. After several days on the river the boat docked for repairs and the passengers were forced to leave the boat until it was safe to proceed again. It was while waiting here that their first child was born. It was a baby girl, who at the request of the ship's captain was named Amazina after the ship they were traveling on. When John knew that his wife was ill, he borrowed a mattress from the ship and made a bed for her under a tree. It started to rain, and with an umbrella held over her, in a driving rainstorm she gave birth to a lovely baby who came to the valley with her parents and grew to womanhood here."
Now that is a birth story that would be fun to share at a baby shower. That day was June 1, 1855. She lived the rest of her life in Bennion Utah until the age of 79. Happy Birthday Amazina.

The Latest with the JeffCorns
Walter's one month mark came up fast. This was already two weeks ago. He has already changed so much since we brought him home from the hospital.
Wendy loves showing her toys to Walter. It's so cute hearing her exclaim, "Walter, look!" at whatever she has or sees.
Walter likes going out for walks and having so much to look at outside.
Wendy also loves reading to Walter. Wherever Walter is, Wendy is usually close by trying to show him all her favourite things.
Walter loves having Wendy close by and Wendy loves holding his hand and rubbing his head. Oh these two together!
Wendy is having so much fun in our new backyard. We've been running fast like cheetahs a lot lately, which requires the occasional rest.
We took both kids out in the chariot and I think Wendy liked having a buddy and Walter liked being part of such a fun outing.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day is a great day to remember those who died in service of our country and in the Cornwall family it was always the time to open the pool at 1213. It was a time to make a splash (literally) with the new swimming suits that the Easter Bunny had brought and to have fun with cousins. There were always burgers cooked by grandpa. I am glad this picture above captured the grill. Anyone see a bottle of lighter fluid around? I like clicking on every picture and see some of the things going on in the background. Happy Memorial Day.

Good-Bye Party for Sister Magnusson
This morning we honored the great service of Sister Magnusson. She has been a treasured teaching partner. I am still in a bit of denial about our team coming to a close. Today made it seem more like a reality.

Sailing the High Seas
We shared a suite and it was sweet We were good roommates. My mom was as fun as ever. Oh boy was this a great cruise for people watching. We got plenty of that in, along with laughing a lot, eating a lot, talking a lot and watching shows.
We had one stop in Ensenada Mexico. We took the shuttle bus into town and enjoyed walking around the town. We sure could have used Sarah for the morning.
