THE GREAT SEMINARY VIDEO OF 2012

You may wish to watch the video by clicking on the "vimeo" logo in the bottom right corner of the video control bar to watch it in better size and quality.

Sister C. produced another wonderful Friend To Seminary Breakfast and Seminary Video for 2012. Great acknowledgments go to Andy Hoopes for this year's camera work and editing. Word is that black and white, silent films are the "in" thing these days.

Everything was all set at 6 a.m. this morning for the hungry throngs.
A fun, hard working kitchen crew made preparing breakfast burritos for 140+ a slick and enjoyable task.
The crowds did come... much to the relief of Sister C... and there was plenty of food for al (also much to the relief of Sister C).
Every seat was filled (and belly too).

Duet

Reesa and I participated in our Ward Talent Show the other weekend. We thought it would be fun to perform a couple numbers. The stage and I are old friends, but a stranger to Reesa. She performed AMAZINGLY. I was/am so proud of her for having the guts to do it and then totally nailing it. We performed two songs: "Black Hole" by She & Him and "You & I" by Wilco and Feist. Enjoy.

Listen to the originals:

"Black Hole" by She & Him (Zooey Deschanel's Band, the girl from ELF)

"You & I" by Wilco and Feist

(A special thanks to Sarah and Spencer for shooting the video)

Birthday Weekend!

30 sure is something to celebrate!
On Thursday night Robbie and I went on a date, a short one, but without our sweet little babies, just the two of us.  Its sometimes hard to be away because we love spending every second with them!  We got delicious $1 ice cream sundaes and had a great time!
On Friday we celebrated with a free burger at Red Robin and some fun at the park!  The weather was in the 70's.  What a spoiled birthday boy to have warm weather in March!

We had a lot of fun!

On Saturday we had a family birthday party.
I made Robbie an edible football field.  It turned out pretty good and tasted delicious!
Then of course we ate cake!  Ice cream cake in fact!
Bennett thought that Daddy should eat it the way he did on his 1st birthday!
So he helped.

Both kids were happy to help him with opening presents.  Emary even sported her "My Daddy Rocks" outfit!

Then Sunday morning we had a birthday parade.  Bennett thought it was mostly for himself.

Emary loved watching it.
Robbie loved looking at his amazing scrapbooks.  They are so much fun!!
It was a terrific weekend and I think it was Robbies best birthday yet!

Away for Good

Ahhh... the ol' Camry served us well for the past 14 years and 280,000 miles (that's more than 10 times driving around the world).

Save Mr. Cornwall

My art teaching position at Edgemont Elementary school is funded by a grant via the Beverly Taylor Sorensen Arts Learning Program (or BTS-ALP for short). They fund 55 elementary arts educators in the state of Utah including Visual Arts, Dance, Music, and Drama. The grants are mainly funded by the Utah State Legislature but also privately from Beverly Taylor Sorensen herself. Since it is partially funded by the legislature, funding is not a guarantee each year. The legislature annually revises how much funds will be allocated to the program. In preparation for a possible decrease in funding, the BTS-ALP has asked that parent volunteers from each school request donations/fundraise in order to SAVE their art programs. In addition to asking for donations from local businesses, the parents from my school are selling popcorn. They asked me to create a poster for their popcorn stand. This is what I came up with:

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Well we wondered if we would be able to keep this tradition up with managing two cute kids but they both looked forward to the big day and wearing green. Bennett did a great job thanks to Grandma Cornwall in getting us thin mint cookies as you can see he is wearing that as well.
Emary is as cute as ever and for some reason it is a lot more fun to dress her up then the rest of us. She got this cute little outfit when she was only a day or two old. She is a little small for it but it still looked really cute.
We love our fun little Bennett. He has so much energy and we love to run around and play with him.
It is hard to believe that these two cute kids belong to us but we are more than happy to have them. Bennett has been a great big brother, it is fun to watch them interact.
Bennett still enjoying some cookies. Thank you to Katie for makine both Bennett and Emary very fun and cute St. Patrick's day pants and skirt. Bennett loved wearing his and was sad when we took them off. Emary is looking forward to wearing her skirt soon.
Even though we are not 100% Irish, on a day like today we love to give both Bennett and Emary extra kisses. We hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick's Day

"Irish I was"

Happy St. Patrick's Day! As a teacher of children, specifically an art teacher, it is very difficult to avoid holiday inspired crafts (notice I did not use the word artworks). I have come to accept it more and more because my students enjoy it so much, particularly the younger grades. I conform to such holiday craftiness with my K-3 after school art class as well. With St. Patrick's Day approaching I was searching for an idea. Inspired from a few sources, I came up with this adorably awesome project. It turned out so well, I had Reesa run the camera up to snap some shots. Enjoy.

Emary is 1 month old!

These first few pictures are from Emarys first photo shoot.  She was 5 days old.
Emary is such a sweet baby.  She sleeps great and is very alert.  She is really content to just look around.
She has smiled in response to us a bunch.
She is still tiny weighing in at about 8 lbs 6 ounces.
She is so much fun.
Bennett absolutely loves her and she loves listening to him talk to her!

We love our sweet Emary and her cute little personality.  She is so accommodating and fun!  She loves to be cheek to cheek with Mom and always turns in the direction of Daddys voice.  She is so adorable!

"This corn is like an angel!"

For two years I have been promising the Cornwall relatives that live in the Provo area that I would host a cousin dinner. Last night that promise was fulfilled. It was a great success and everyone came: The Dave Cornwalls; Thomas, Melanie and William Alvord; Jaycee and Chuck Smith; as well as Sarah, Reesa and I. We had chicken tacos with homemade shells which were made by Sarah, Reesa and myself. Everyone pitched in. Afterwards we played some games. It was quite the party.

Reesa making shells.

Sarah slicin' some avocado.

Eating arrangements. We borrowed Sarah's table and chairs.

Sarah's DELICIOUS Oreo cake served with cookies and creme ice cream. It was a HUGE hit.
