First Day of School! (a day late)

END Before the BEGINNING

It is appropriate that before there are any posts about the BEGINNING of a new school year that there be a bit of a wrap-up of the END of summer vaca....

Sarah had quite the summer here at ol' 336. Having come home from BYU she soon took off for a visit to Oregon with Mom & Dad and then off on her own for 10 days in Connecticut and finally a quick trip to Utah . For the last 9 weeks she worked (her 2nd summer) for Summer Extravaganza - a daily youth recreation program through the City of Monrovia. Sarah will have to share how much fun she had this year. The photo is of the last very fun carnival day at which our own Sarah Lehnny was recognized as the Youth Camp Leader of the Summer. No free passes to Disneyland this year, but a couple of nice gift cards.

The Last Month!

Most of you know but We have had a whirlwind of a month ...let me give you a little run down
We Got back from a trip to California
I Had a crazy fever and horrible neck pain for 4 days
I was Hospitalized for two nights and three days
Had a Spinal Tap (YUCK)-thought I had had every test up until that point...realized I was wrong
Got diagnosed with Lymes Disease
Went to the hospital a few weeks later to find out I had a Kidney Stone
We had a flood in our apartment- that came with the most horrible smell EVER
Got out of our lease
Moved out of State- And all the changes that come with it
Robb is now commuting almost 3 hours-3 days a week to finish his 2nd to last clinical
Bennett popped his two front teeth (in the last 2 nights)
Oh and All the while
I am pregnant with another miracle baby
A miracle because it was so much easier and quicker than we ever expected
A miracle because this baby has been through so much already, a flood, hospital stays, disease etc.
We are so excited to welcome this little baby into our family some time around February 16th 2012

This list is not at all to complain but to Thank our Father in Heaven for each of the many miracles and blessings we receive even through difficult times and trials.  The flood was a blessing, the move was a blessing and with each of the hospital stays I was able to see our little February baby and know that he/she is doing great- which made it ALL worth it-SUCH A BLESSING!!!  It would take me days to tell you all the great things that have come about because of all these things! These things also have made our marriage stronger and helped me be more grateful and awed by my amazing husband who did  pretty much EVERYTHING for the last month, while I slept and felt a bit sick.  I love my sweet Robbie who always helps me look on the bright side and helped me find a lot of the blessings that came from all this excitement!!   Its also made me realize how easy we have had it with Bennett.  He is so easy going and sweet!  I love my boys and my little peach (see below)!

Off to Kindergarten

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to sneak in a tour of Paisley's new school. We saw her classroom and met her teacher, Mrs. Pacey. Paisley instantly loved her, and she loved Paisley. She looked all around the room and loved it. We saw all over the school including, the gym, art class, music class, the library, and computer lab. We were very impressed with all the great programs the school offers. This made paisley super excited to start today!

Here we are heading out the door to school. For the first 2 weeks they have half day Kindergarten so the class is split into AM and PM. Paisley is in PM kindergarten. Starting September 1st we will go full day.

Paisley in front of her classroom. Jarom couldn't stand to not be by his best friend in the picture!!
Paisley and Mrs. Pacey. She instantly went to hug her and was so excited to see her again. She knew right where to put her backpack and then sat down at a table to do play dough.

Paisley got to play with play dough while they waited for everyone else to arrive. She sat next to a girl named Ashley. Maybe they will be best friends!

Paisley was having so much fun she barely had time to say goodbye to us. Jarom on the other hand started screaming and did not want to leave Paisley at school. Jarom's crying then made me and nana start to cry. I can't believe 5 1/2 years have gone by and it's time to go to school. She is such a big girl!

Portland Chinese Gardens

We drove downtown to visit the Chinese Gardens. We had a particular interest at this time. It was beautiful, but probably not the perfect place for the under five crowd. We enjoyed watching the fish and learning to say hello, I love you and I miss you in Chinese.

Ward Picnic in the Park

On Wednesday we went to a local park and had lunch with Elizabeth and Daniel's friends from the ward. The kids brought their bikes and boy can they ride fast. Loving these beautiful days in Oregon!!

ZERELL HOUSE

The president of MOHPG (Monrovia Old Home Preservation Group) and his wife stopped by and visited with Mom & Dad a week ago. Mr. Wigton was interested in doing a story for his weekly articles on the Zerrels and was interested in any old family photos we might have. We shared what we had. His article appeared today at a site called....

Portland Zoo

My first moments in Portland were spent at the Portland zoo - straight from the airiport. Boy did we have fun. Elizabeth and Daniel loved all the animals, but especially the elephants and giraffes. Daniel was a great driver on our safari trip. We were glad that we went early because there was quite a line when we left as you could see in the background of the group shot. Seth is a great outing buddy - enjoyed the whole thing without a peep.
