Fun was had by all at seminary this morning. It was Sister Miramontes' 50th birthday - I'm sure she won't mind me announcing that to the world. Rachel and I had worked hard to have a fun morning. Rachel and Dad left at 6:00 a.m. to decorate both the seminary room and the cultural hall. I made stuffed french toast, oranges and juice for a breakfast. Rachel had wrapped her gifts in various sizes boxes and with many layers of wrapping paper. She wanted to do 50 layers but I put the kibosh on that. I think Sister Miramontes felt loved and appreciated, especially when she read outloud, with tears streaming down her face - the 50 reasons why we love Sister Mirmontes. Sister Miramontes and I had planned a morning of scripture mastery games including Jeopardy. That fun Sister Miramontes dressed up as Alex Trebek and entered the room while I sang the theme song. We had the kids use the chasing buzzers as a way to indicate who got the answer first. Man this is the best way to start every morning!!!

wow that really looked like a fun day in seminary. I am jealous that i missed it
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like seminary!!! What a blessing that it has been such a part of our family over the past 12 years. Thanks mom for sharing it with us. Love you!!
ReplyDeleteOh what a merry morning for Margaret Miramontes. Looks like she felt loved. I hope so.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Mom you exceeded the blog limit of SIX medium size pics per blog. (Same standard as group gratutity at IHOP.)
Dad, are you the only one complaining about the excessive pics????? I was going to do several more - Daniel Gutierrez, Jordan Zepeda, Lauren Miramontes and Sarah Fiore hit the cutting room floor!!!!
ReplyDeleteya' most certainly did "kabosh" my ridiculously cute plan, and I hate that picture. But I love all of you!!
ReplyDeleteMy popular culture score is pretty low - I had to ask Harry who Alex Trebek was - and then was amazed that he knew because his popular culture score is as low as mine - but that photo of Margaret is some kind of classic - maybe it should be in the ward newsletter!!
ReplyDeleteSeminary is Cool!
