Yes - Our sweet Rachel turned 16 years old. It is hard to believe that she could be that old. When Rachel was born on New Year's Eve I hadn't anticipated the wonderful excuse it would become to have a wonderful party every year. It started off semi-early on Saturday with the traditional birthday parade. The second thing on the agenda was something that wasn't so traditional and that was breakfast at the new IHOP in Duarte by Walmart with the girls in their pajamas. It was very fun and delicious (especially the butter pecan syrup for me - even though I'm not a big non-homemade syrup kind of a gal). Rachel has been pure joy in our family. She has her first date all lined up - with a really nice guy whose initials are KNC!!! I think they are going to Cafe Opera on Tuesday. Sixteen is a big year - especially for girls - dating and driving. Rachel is lined up for both. WE LOVE RACHEL!!!!!

Sue - the blog is lookiing great! And the b-day sounds very fab! I always remember Rachel's birthday and then remember that I need to send my nephew Sam a card!! (He's in Kansas so out of sight tends to be out of mind - but he's exactly as old as Rachel!)
