A Sticky Situation

For our Christmas Break activity today we went to the La Brea Tar Pits. You may think that is an interesting choice for our group but here is the reasoning behind our outing. Rachel found out from good old Mr. Stewart - her Biology teacher at Monrovia High School - that she could get extra credit if she went to the Tar Pits and could produce a ticket and a picture of herself at the tar pits. (Does Rachel need extra credit points - I don't think so - but she is always the good student doing the most instead of the least in every class) . To top it all off - today was "Get in Free Day." That sealed the deal and we picked up dad from work and were off to the museum. Dad encouraged us to watch the introductory movie (he always loves those) and then we toured the entire museum. That was followed by lunch at Koo Koo Roo's just down the street and then a run by the Rose Bowl Stadium to see what was going on there. Overall a very very fun day with very very fun people.

This museum is just a little too scary!

  1. Believe it or not, I, a Southern California Native, have never been to the LaBrea Tar Pits. I always suggest it, but there never seem to be any takers. Maybe I will put that on the list for next year's Terrill Family Holiday Extravaganza!
