Le Cordon Bleu

Well, I figured, while in Paris, I ought to take advantage of the culinary opportunities around me. Voila - Le Cordon Bleu, one of the most highly-esteemed cooking schools throughout the world (and an integral part of Audrey Hepburn's film Sabrina.)
I signed up for a course "In Honor of Julia Child" - they take great pride in the movie Julie and Julia (which I have not in fact seen yet) because dear Julia Child was trained right here in Paris.
This was our chef. He prepared three dishes for us: 1. a pastry turnover with roquefort cheese, cream and walnuts baked inside. 2. a lamb stew with carrots, tomatoes, rosemary and olives. and 3. chocolate mousse made in an italian meringue style as opposed to the more traditional french mousse - style.
We didn't actually get a full meal, but the chef prepared each one in a manner that would be presented at any restaurant in paris. It was lovely.
Before the class we actually got to sit in this lovely room and enjoy freshly squeezed OJ and croissants.
Voila, now I shall have to prepare some lovely dishes for all of you - rest assured!

  1. After having your mom help with the dinner tonight at the Foothill Building, I'm convinced Cordon Bleu has nothing on her!!

But your cooking adventure does look like lots of fun - and so very French!
