This weekend we picked out a tree. A superb one again. We have to just about look at everyone in our price category. We picked a fine one, asked them to get a fresh cut on it, but they cut a lot off and split the side. We weren't thrilled, but were polite and they gave us $20.00 off. I guess we can now spend that money on the child that was the best this year. Saturday night we attended the Ward Christmas party. The theme was - Thanksgiving in Nauvoo. A few people dressed up. There was a nice program followed by Santa dropping by. He looked and sounded a little bit like Brother Seely. Sarah got to help a little helping the kids get on Santa's lap. We have been decorating. Dad has come up with a few themed rooms - new this year. I love when dad gets great ideas. Maybe I will get him to post about it for those of you who won't be at 336 on the 25th.

Looking a lot like Christmas

Last night we brought the tree in (the Living Rm. again this year). We got it all plumb and set in the 'NEW' stand. Mom stood back and exclaimed, "THAT is a beautiful tree." The best of the lot. Of course we all know it's Mom that has the final emphatic say in which one we leave Home Depot with. So, I suppose one would expect Mom to be the yule fir's biggest vocal booster. And we really, really love her for it!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you are leaps and bounds ahead of me. I did get the outside door decorations up, but not no avail, we still don't have the lights on the house or a stitch of decor inside. I'm wondering if a tree is even a good idea with this little monkey walking the house! Maybe a small one on top of the bookcase. The tree looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat 20 bucks is mine.. I mean I hope the best to each person that they might earn it. Bitter sweet about the tree. Glad you picked yet another good one. I'm excited to see it.
ReplyDeleteMom you look absolutely lovely in your picture. You are so beautiful and what a tree that seems to be the best in the world. Did I mention you are the worlds best cook. Anyway... It looks like a good tree and I am excited to see pictures since I won't see it in real life. Glad you had fun at the ward Christmas party
ReplyDeleteUh Jeff, come on, let's be honest. Clearly, CLEARLY that 20 dollars is going straight to my stocking. Just wait . . . And mom, you are rather lovely. All this talk gives me M-town jitters!
