This is the first fall Saturday in nearly 20 years that Mom and Dad Cornwall aren't packing up the folding chairs and heading to a AYSO soccer game. No more banners to make, no more hair bows to sew, no more sliced oranges, water bottles, end of game snacks, tunnels (although WE ARE PROUD OF YOU YES WE ARE PROUD OF YOU - Still). Some people might think of it as a bit of a relief - we don't - we are going to miss it (until Paisley or someone else starts that we can adopt as our own). We will truly miss seeing the amazing teamwork that soccer takes on. We will miss the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. We have had many highs and lows - games and teams that we will never forget. Thanks Cornwall kids for 20 straight years of lots of fun (even the year we had 5 kids on 5 different teams) WE LOVED IT!!! What is dad doing this morning (I am obviously waxing nostalgic)? He is helping me get my classroom ready for the first day of seminary which starts MONDAY - pictures to come soon. WE LOVE SOCCER!!!

Oh, those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.... I think I may just head down to MHS or Foothill Middle school and sit back and watch a game, scan all the screaming, cheering parents, enjoy the sport once more. Or maybe not... You kids were a great big KICK!
ReplyDeleteWow, Mom and Dad I believe that it is safe to say that the family is making a very big transition from, no AYSO, No clifton, to more than have in or done with College, and (soon to be) half the kids Married. To be honest, is still wish I was AYSO age, those days will always be remembered. Thank you for all those weekends spend on those special playing fields
ReplyDeletehalf not have, I just want to say I never "proof read" my comments so if there are errors it is mostly b/c my mind and fingers are thinking differently. but I do know the difference, and I am ususally a good speller.
ReplyDeleteAny time you are up in Utah you are welcome to come and watch Becca play...we are in the first of ? years of soccer this year and are absolutely loving it, too!
