The Field is White!!

The room is done, the week is through and we are all trying to settle down to a steady pace. As you can see my room turned out great - I can't thank dad enough for helping me over the huge hump this year of getting it done. The shadow box is such a great addition and the kids seemed excited to be more missionary minded. Seminary is a great place to be. I'm so thankful to have Rachel in my class and to have Sarah in the very capable hands of Sister Miramontes. What a blessing it is to live in the latter days.

Dad thought of something to do with the bookcase that has been kicking around the front room - I love it. Also Joseph and Brigham (the bookends) have been hanging around the Bishop's Office the past 7 1/2 years - what perfect timing for them to find a new home.

I just finished the quilt last night. You'll notice there are two blank squares - the students set a goal of working toward a couple of converts or reactivations to help fill those squares.

  1. Great room MOM. It just makes you want to be there. Then I am sure once the kids get there they are instructed and inspired by the bucketful AND have lots of fun in the process. Oh, those lucky Monrovia kids.

  2. WWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW Mom!!!! That looks fabulous. I wish I were in your class again. The shadow box is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Where is the shadow box in location to the room? I thought it was the far wall but from the pictures it looks life there is something else there. Thanks for sharing part of your world with us who are far away. It sure is nice being related to the best seminary teacher in history!!!!!

  3. The shadowbox is on the south wall so you can see it just as you walk into the room. It is so fantastic!!! Dad was so modest - but it turned out so good. Thanks Katie for the addition of my Nauvoo brick. Dad added his missionary badge from England, a military copy of the D & C, there is also a picture of Samuel Smith - the first missionary and of course my reaper woman. I love that picture.

  4. It brings a little tear to my eye every time seminary studies the D&C since I missed it because of the curriculum change. But luckily they had D&C classes at "Ricks," and speaking of Ricks I am glad they also had good future spouse prospects.
The room looks great Mom, the next time D&C comes around I don't think you'll have room for anything new.

  5. Let me tell ya'll that are experiencing this transmittally(?) anyway, it looks even more SPECTAULARLY FANTABULOUS when you have the opportunity to enjoy it each morning. Quite frankly, it's why I get up at 5:30 in the morning (or try to.)

  6. Rach-bach I got a big smile to my face when I read it is why I wake up at 5:30 in the morning. Good one.

WOW-E-A that is great mom!!! It think it looks so great. You did an amazing job I think it would make anyone wake up early just to see that every morning. You put so much effort into that and I hope that you get the appreciation that you deserve. It really does look great. Have a great day
