New Season

(I Just found her picture!!!)

Jason expressed last Monday that this was the first fall in 23 years that he wasn't heading back to school. Here is a picture of him and Lacy Christensen on their first day of Kindergarten. Their teacher was Mrs. Nancy Stewart. She died a couple of weeks ago and I thought we would honor her with a post (I have looked for a full week for a picture of her - Jason's class picture had the Student Teacher in it - and I can't find Katie's Kindergarten class picture). Both Jason and Katie had Mrs. Stewart for a full year - Robb lasted one day in her class. I particularly appreciated her Christmas programs - she was dedicated to teaching the children exactness!! Here is her obituary. Apparently she was a very religious woman also.

STEWART-Nancy Elizabeth Stewart, went into the arms of Jesus on August 16th, 2006 after a valiant fight with cancer. Nancy was a longtime resident of Monrovia and taught at Mayflower elementary for over 30 years. For over 50 years she was a faithfu l member of Bethany Church of Sierra Madre. She is survived by her husband of 50 years James, and 4 children Melissa, Tamara, Jonathan and Michael. Also survived by her 3 precious sisters Jane Taylor, Martha Elliott, Ruth Hanselman and 11 loving grandchildren. Services will be held Friday August 25th at Bethany Church in Sierra Madre at 3:00 PM. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

  1. Nice post Mom.

What we are all wondering is how come Robb only lasted one day?

  2. Oh boy, Here it comes..... We just didn't see eye to eye on somethings, In my defense I think it was longer than a day, I know it wasn't much longer than that, but when a Teacher keeps you in during Recess and you are crying the whole time it is no wonder that I wanted to change, but in honor of this Fine Teacher I will say I am sure there are those that enjoyed her. But to my knowledge we had Mrs/Ms. Worman to our house to eat and Mrs Stewatt never made it......

  3. Thanks for the update on Nancy Stewart. I didn't agree with her way of dealing with young children, but she was very right for some kids - little Bernie went to her summer program and fairly bloomed as a result!
