WATCH OUT!! Girl in Green DRIVING(?) the Shag Machine

Yesiree, it's true, Rachel Cornwall has become the newest licensed driver of the Cornwall family.
Here I am waiting in the ridiculously long and inefficient line.
Here I am after I passed with thirteen. I got Mr. Jolly Holiday to drive with, luckily. (I have been wondering whether I would have passed without his generosity!)
Mom made me take a picture in front of all the depressed looking people waiting for their number to be called. I felt pretty darn silly, but considering I will never ever see them again, it's okay.
Once we got home I started my warm-up for my new baby, the shag, and hopefully I won't have to be in competition with Lauren Miramonte's accident TWO HOURS after she got her license.
Finally mom doesn't have to drive me everywhere. It's official!! (Even though I do have to wait 4-6 weeks for my real card. )

  1. So proud of you Rachel!! I really wanted to take a picture of Rachel and Jolly Holiday - but when she got out of the car she gave me the thumbs up that she passed and the thumbs down on the picture with Jolly. WAY TO GO RACHEL!!!!

Good job Rachel! Which course did you take? The 15 mph speed bumps (viz a vee Jeff) or the slow and winding Chapman Wood lanes?

  4. Oh, good old Jolly Holiday, I don't think I would have passed if I had someone other than him. The one piece of advice from him that I still remember to this day is that if you are driving in a parking lot and there are people walking in front of your car and they don't realize you're there. Just give a little toot of the horn to let them know you're there.

  5. Guess what I did! Drove to dance all by myself, booyah! I didn't even get into an accident. But I probably should have because my headlights were off the whole way home at 8:00 at night, now I know how to turn them on! This all sooooo exciting!

  6. Rachel I would like to oficailly welcome you one of the biggest and most elite clubs in all the world. You have proved yourself worthy, and I would do the "oficial" handshake, but you will have to settle for a written commitment. Congradulations.

P.S. How come I didn't get Mr. Smiley? I know who he is, but I would have liked to have him, and I am guessing Jeff didn't have him, j/k I am totally kidding, I know Jeff can laugh about it now, I hope.

  7. I remember who Jeff had on the first go round - a latino guy named Rene. Yea - I saw him today. I think his second time he had one of the Asian guys. I make it a matter of studying all the driving testers. To think in a few years, I won't have an excuse to go to the DMV any more - except when I'm an old woman trying to keep my license - I wonderful if Rene and JOlly will be there then.
