I Know Something

Tonight was my PTSA meeting. It was a big night because we had invited Mr. Frank Zepeda - Monrovia High School Principal - to be our featured speaker for a Parent Education Night. I had invited the entire school board to attend so that they could hear what our concerns are about the high school (and all five of them came!!!). We had about 50+ people in attendance. We had to do a little business - pay some bills before we turned it over to Mr. Zepeda - but before I could even do the welcome Ms. Rinder - Clifton's principal - said she had to make an announcement. All my board members were wearing these white shirts. The fronts were blank so I wasn't sure what was going on. She said that at our December Meeting they had talked about all wanting to be like Sue Cornwall. That did indeed happen and they were very very sweet about it. Well they had T-shirts made that said - I want to be like Sue - and then gave me the T-shirt I am wearing that says I Am Sue. The "I Know Something" comes from my theme this year. My goal for PTSA is to have all Clifton Parents be "I"nformed, "I"nvolved, and "I"nclusvie with everyone at Clifton. Every month I do a segment called "I Know Something" where I tell about some of the great things that I have found out about what is happening at Clifton. These sweet wonderful ladies decided that they wanted the "I Know Something" for February to be that they wanted to be like Sue. I took this position because I had said that I might do it 13 years ago - and it has ended up being one of the most joyful things I have participated in my community involvement.

  1. I have to be my first comment because I forgot to mention that Dad came up with the composition of the picture. I don't think I would have come up with on my own!!!

  4. We DO have the greatest Mom in our family. We have always known it and we are proud of Mom for sharing her special gifts with an important slice of the community. It is not surprizing that they have noticed how admirable our Mom's is. Thanks Mom/Wife for being the best and saving and sharing the best for us all, everyday. Love you so much.

  5. Okay, if everyone is going to say how great mom is, I had better jump on the boat. I was just wondering what in the world I would ever do without her, and quite frankly, I think that the rest of the world might be wondering this as well. Thanks mom for really being the best. I know that I want to be like you!!!
