Bay to LA: Day Seven

We spent the day in Morro Bay, a quaint beach town. It was a lovely day of rest. We found a local ward to attend and spent the afternoon around the little town and campground.

  1. The photo looks like Moro Bay Rock. The town's most notable feature sitting a short distance out in the bay. As I recall from Mom and my visit to Moro Bay for my niece's wedding a few years ago, the rock got it's name from a Portuguese explorer in the 1500s. He thought the 500 ft. tall volcanic "plug" looked the top of the head of a turbaned Moor. It is the largest of a series of "plugs" that Jeff and Reesa will see offshore known as the Nine Sisters.
