Paris Life Has Been BUSY.

But rest easy knowing that I'm well-nourished:
Today's lunch (and dinner in fact) a pizza from this little place across the river. We were walking along the street and saw 4,50 for pizza and a boisson. We couldn't split like we wanted, but they were so big that I packed up my other half and saved it.

On Monday M. Olivier brought us all pastries from Laduree. Mine was kind of the last pick and it ended up being the most delicious mocha pastry with cake + nuts, a fudgy middle layer, and a caramel-y top layer. Marvelous.

This is one of the most common things one could buy on the street. Start with the most delicious baguette, stuff it with chicken, lettuce, tomato; slather it with a type of horse-radish sauce, and serve it up to hungry lady (who could only eat half of that and had to save the rest for latah.)

This was my dinner the very first night. There was this patisserie right outside the metro stop, so a few of us ducked in and I smothered this marriage of sweet chocolate custard and soft pastry. Wow.

And of course I had to make sure that I fulfilled some kind of crepe quota. I grabbed this for lunch yesterday when it was rather chilly and windy, but fortunately it's served up hot with a whole banana cut up inside with sugar sprinkled on top.

And I believe that tomorrow I will be going to Pierre Herme to pick up mon premier macaron!

  1. I don't know how you say YUMMY in French, but perhaps a good tummy rubbing and lip smacking is a universal language... and that is what I am doing. Perhaps viewing your post right prior to dinn'ar accentuated the pangs. I am so glad that the French cuisine is finding a welcome customer in our little Rachel.
