Birthday Overview

Thank you to everyone for the gifts and cards. I had a wonderful day. Here are some of the highlights. Dallin made me a yummy omelet breakfast, Elizabeth slept in till 9:30 (but only after she woke up at 4:00am). Mom and Dad gave me a wheat grinder. Anyone is welcome over for some homemade bread. Dallin brought home roses and a pizza for lunch and he got off early so we could go play. We first went and picked berries including raspberries, boysenberries, and marionberries. They are so good and are only $1 per pound. We then came home and Dallin made me dinner. We had plans to go to the Portland Rose Garden but it was late and Elizabeth wouldn't last very long so we decided to go to the library and walk around the ponds. (We will go to the Rose Garden later this week.)

An additional highlight for me was finishing the Old Testament. I had set a goal to finish it by my birthday and I did it. Wow that is a long book but I sure learned a lot.

Dallin made the best birthday cake. It consists of a brownie layer, cookies and cream ice cream layer, fresh berry layer, tin roof sundae ice cream layer, then whip cream frosting. It was so good.

Here is a bonus video. Elizabeth and I did a lot of dancing yesterday and obviously I am out of practice blowing out candles. (sorry for the long post.)

  1. What a day!!! I think I am most impressed by the cake!!! Dallin - you continue to amaze me. The berries looked great - I liked the sign - all you can eat - free. I might stop by every day if I lived close. Congratulations on reading the Old Testament. That is quite a feat. We love you Katie - Glad you had a great day. (Any day I see video of my granddaughters it is a great day)

  4. Dad - you are the only one who thinks food posts or talking about food in posts is bad - we ladies love them. Don't let dad discourage any food posts!!!!
