BYU BOX in CT.

We are still riding a high from getting the BYU box. It is still one of those moments that we can not realize really happened. Before we get any further Marybeth really is #wife/momoftheyear. She was awesome and so sweet to go after one this year after many attempts in many states last year with just the kids. The whole story is pretty long, but here is a summarized version as best as it can be. We drove to CT in the morning and visited many places that we used to visit when we lived there. We got the update of the CT location and it was a hour and half further south than we were. It was already 3:30pm and were worried we would get there after it dropped. Marybeth researched places it could be and when we arrived we checked out some of those places and felt good about where we were and we hung out in the car in between those locations to better our chances. It was getting later and later and we hadn't had dinner yet so just before 7pm we decided we have to get dinner even if it meant we didn't get the box but it was getting too late. We went a few minutes away to CPK (California Pizza Kitchen). Marybeth called ahead to optimize our time so we could head back out. It was in a busy strip mall with a rotary and we drove around multiple times looking for a place to park (All the while I was thinking we drove all this way and it is going to be dropped while we are away). We finally just pull to the side in the rotary and Marybeth runs in to check on the food. Since I was driving I hadn't been checking my phone. Marybeth comes walking out without food and is looking at her phone. She is a few steps away from the car and her eyes light up gets a rush of adrenaline points to her right and just takes off running. I frantically refresh my phone and sure enough there is the picture of the Byu Box. I start going crazy. I get out of the car and see MB holding the box in her hand. I start screaming to the kids that Mommy just got the box over and over again. I get the kids out and tell them to run to mommy, who was a little distance away (Something we would never normally do). I then get back in the car to try and find a parking spot with a smile ear to ear , but the worst part was I had no one to share my excitement with. So I made some calls to mom and dad to share the news. Thanks again.  Marybeth is awesome and boy she is fast, she got to the box in seconds and we were pretty lucky to be in that spot at that time but we will take it. The 3 hour drive home was the best 3 hours in the car we have ever spent.

byubox from M Cornwall on Vimeo. Here is a video that Bennett did to show some of the fun things in the box. The best is Bennett trying to say Bronco Mendenhall. He is so cute he was most excited. Every morning he says something about the BYU box.

  2. So so so happy for you. The opening the box video was SO GREAT. Loved him saying Bronco Mendenhall. Bronco would probably like to see it.

  3. We are all cheering for you. That is a really exciting recitation of the happenings on that eventful day in Connecticut. It's fun that Bennett likes the box and the stuff almost as much as his dad!

  4. I can't pick my favourite part about this post...the photo of Robbie looking SO good in that jersey with the flag, those cute kids decked out in the BYU gear, the video of Bennett (okay my favourites of that: saying Bronco Mendhall-great editing on that part, and explaining that he would only hit him if he were a bad guy-ha!). I guess if I did have to pick a favourite thing about this post it would be that you found the box!!!! This is such a great story! Thanks for sharing, we LOVE seeing and hearing about more details of this amazing find.
