I had a bit of a hard time with Bennett turning 5. How could my first baby be five years old. Why do they have to grow up so fast! Yet at the same time so fresh in my mind and heart are the feelings I had for years- wondering if I would ever have a baby let alone a 5 year old of my very own. Robbie and I feel truly blessed to have this adorable boy fill our home with so much laughter and so much good. Bennett loves the scriptures- LOVES THEM! Its really hard to have to say to your child " I don't think we can read another scripture story its really getting late" (After we have read 3 or 4 stories.) I always give in to one more I mean it is the scriptures after all. His primary teacher was having a conversation with someone and said "if you have a question about the scriptures ask Bennett." He is very spiritually minded. I pray that I will always be able to foster this love and keep the excitement he has for these incredible words.
We love his smile
We are sad to see his freckle on his lip fading over time
We love his formal speech
We love the way he sings with an accent
We love that if he could meet someone famous he chooses Newsies
We love how he always aims to please
We love that he adores his younger siblings and always tries to help them or make them happy
He is always thinking of others and Empathizing with others. He wants everyone to be happy.
He loves to pretend
We love his dreamy blue eyes with that one dark spot in there that I have always loved to see- knowing I could always prove that he was mine because I knew about that special spot in his eye and only a mother would know her child down to such a small detail.
He loves to hear stories, no one has a boring story in Bennetts mind, he can't get enough
We love how much he understands. We have been reading chapter books to Bennett for the last two years and since the beginning we were so surprised that without pictures he was following every word.
We adore his dimple under his right eye.
We love that he can eat his weight in blueberries and any other fruit for that matter.
We love his bouncy self!
We love his squinty eyes just as much as we did when he was first born.
We adore him in every sense and Thank our Father in Heaven every day for our dreamy baby.
Bennett is a constant reminder to us that miracles have not ceased.
He is our dreamy dream boat!
We love that he can't get enough cuddles and snuggles and would still sleep with us every night if he could.
We love that he never wants to move out or get married (for now).
We feel honored to be his parents.
Oh Marybeth, the words...the photos, it is all so beautiful! I can't believe Bennett is 5 years old either. He really is the sweetest little boy and I love reading about all the details of what he loves and what he's doing at this stage. He's one special guy. The pictures are gorgeous and capture his personality so well (and he looks especially handsome and grown up holding his five fingers up). What an amazing little boy with a set of amazing parents.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how grown up he is. And there is no way he's going into Kindergarten. Great shots Marybeth. Love that 50 mm.
ReplyDeleteThat is one spectacular 5 year old. To hear the tender thoughts of his mother (and I am sure his father echos them) is really, really touching and wonderful. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWe have loved experiencing some of those things first hand - in person and on skype. Bennett is pretty incredible. So excited to hear about school adventures.
