Friday night to Saturday morning was Arcadia Stake Fathers and Sons outing at Wilderness Park. Rain was forecast all week but providentially never materialized. Team Hanke, Bird, Zepeda and Hoopes put on the dutch-oven dinner feast. Later there were s'mores and dutch-oven cobbler. Morning brought a hearty breakfast of eggs, potatoes, sausage and o.j. and later the traditional egg-toss contest. Dad's part was to bring up the campfire wood and provide a "message" regarding the historical significance of priesthood gathering in the woods in May. (See photo below.)

Wow - who took your picture? Sure looks like you had everyone's attention.
ReplyDeleteI was concerned with asking a couple of dozen active boys to pull their sticks out of the fire, and sit still and listen for a few minutes on their way to roasting marshmallows and s'mores.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great shot! Those are some lucky boys to get to hear from you.
