Burr/Smith/Hodgkinson.
A written history on Carolyn Burr Smith has not been found. Her story is based on information pieced together from Family Search.
Carolyn Burr was born on April 26, 1847 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. She was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1 September 1865, at the age of 19, and was married 22 April 1867 to Daniel Smith* in Worcestershire, England. . The family apparently immigrated to Utah between the birth of their 4th child in 1872 in England and a still born child in 1874 in Salt Lake City. Carolyn's mother and father never immigrated or joined the Church, having died in Warwickshire, England in 1899/1901 respectively. Records indicate that none of Carolyn's siblings joined the Church. Carolyn died on 9 May 1917 in Murray, Utah
Carolyn and Daniel had eleven children, five of whom died in infancy. Their 9th and 10th children were twins. One of the twins, a daughter, died in infancy. Manasseh, the other twin is our ancestor. Manasseh's older brother who died at age 7 had a great name Daniel Mohanri Moriancumr Smith.
It would appear that Carolyn and Daniel liked singing based on the below photo of the Murray Ward choir (from the files of Beverly Smith Hodgkinson) . Carolyn and Daniel are the last couple on the right in the fourth from the bottom row. Manasseh and his wife Gracie were also in the choir.. Manasseh is far right, second row from the top and Gracie (Beverly Smith Hodgkinson's favorite grandma) is right in the middle of the second row, third from the left.
* Daniel Smith was baptized circa 1856 with his father and family in England - See Thomas Smith Post
