So Very Worth the Wait!!!

Everywhere in nature we are taught the lessons of patience and waiting. We want things a long time before we get them, and the fact that we want them a long time makes them all the more precious when they come.

Bennett's Name

So here is the story with Bennett's name. Since a month before Robbie and I were married I kept having dreams about this little baby boy. I knew he was ours and I knew that someday he would come to our family. A few months after Robbie and I were married as we were discussing names for our future children I offered up the name Bennett. I hadn't ever heard of anyone named Bennett I just saw it on a sign somewhere, as the name of a store or something. There was something very special about this name to us. We loved that we didn't associate it with anyone and we felt like we would someday have a child with this name. When we found out we were pregnant we kept talking about the name Bennett, when we found out it was a boy it was always on the top of our list. We would keep sitting down to make lists, as not to limit ourselves to names, we would search baby books and yet Bennett was always the first one. We didn't tell anyone we were using this name because I wanted to see him first. When they put him in my arms I knew it was him, how could I not. As tears were streaming down my cheeks and I was overwhelmed with love for this tiny, perfect boy all I could think about was this amazing blessing that was sent from our father in Heaven. He was more than worth the wait, I would have waited 100 years more for this blessing. The name Bennett means "Blessed" whenever we look at this tiny perfect boy we will never think of anything but how truly blessed we feel to have him as ours. He truly is a blessing, a miracle and for so many reasons this was the name we kept coming back to us. The name he was supposed to have, long before I was pregnant, long before I had those dreams about my perfect boy.
Now for Zachary. I wanted this little boy to have something special from each of his grandfathers and his dad. I didn't want to limit myself to one name because I wanted him to really feel that he has a part of each of them. So I took the Z from my maiden name, which my Dad gave to me, and the special h from his name, "John" which makes "John" way better than plain old "Jon." and the r from Robbie and we came up with Zachary. He has a little of everyone, with Cornwall to end it all. (Straight from his other grandpa, and of course his Dad). So that's who this little guy is. We are so excited to see him grow with this amazing paternal examples and with always knowing the blessing that he is to his parents, and how blessed he will constantly be from his Father in Heaven.
