Blood Bash 08

I know everyone has been waiting in rapt anticipation for pictures of this unforgettable event!
Several weeks ago, my bom teacher told our class that we would have the opportunity to go to his house to kill turkeys that he has been raising for the past few years.

Well . . . this was the weekend.
Here is dear Lauren with the cleever. We like each other a lot!
Lauren and I were pros. One guy described us as viking women-or Nephite women {ha!} because we were very much into the chopping, steaming, plucking, gutting, washing and bagging!
And here is the crew. There are quite a few people in this picture that I don't know, but we all contributed.
And here he is, the man of the hour-Bro. Merrill. I love his class, and now I can go in with newfound respect for this down-home man.

  1. Oh what a fun activity: killing turkeys. New past-time hobby?

  2. Well, well Rachel I don't know that I would have thought you had it in you. Must be from all those fish you helped me clean up the cabin. Is there a turkey dinner in the future for this Viking/Nephite brood to enjoy the fruit/meat of your labor?
OBTW fun/funny pics, you ham, errrr... I mean turkey, errr.... silly goose...

  3. Oh dad, you know how to make me giggle. And although I would love to partake of some of these turkeys {in the eating fully cooked sense} I don't believe it will happen. Shame.
