Gone but not Forgotten!!

My dad died 10 years ago today. I remember the day as clear as it was yesterday. In some ways it has seemed such a short time ago - but in other ways it seems like an eternity since Grandpa Hodgkinson has graced our lives with fun stories, visits to sunny California where he always reminded us what a great city we chose to live in, words like SUPERB and GRAND, great counsel, encouraging words and his great example of a great life full of good works.
You certainly couldn't tell he was a farm boy from his grown-up life - but this picture helps confirms that he was.
He didn't talk much about his military service - but I was so impressed that he served with such honor.
My dad and I were in a quartet festival. I can't remember what we sang but I love this picture.
I am especially proud of my mom these past ten years. My mom has shouldered some really hard things and done it with grace and faith. What a fine heritage I have had - I will be eternally grateful for both of them.

  1. Grandpa Hodgkinson is one of the finest, most exemplary, happy, pleasant men I ever knew. He will always be a standard of excellence and fulfilled life to me. It IS very hard to believe he passed on ten years ago. We miss him.

  4. Thanks Mom!! I had remembered and it was neat to see all the pictures. It was also fun for Dallin to see to. I remember today nine years ago and I will always remember Grandpa's contagious smile.
