FIRED UP!
A few folks from around the country have been very sweet and called due to all the national news and the Southern California fires. We here in the San Gabriel Valley have been very blessed. You can see from the map the fires (the red squares) are in surrounding counties. Before today when we started getting some smoke we would not even know anything unusual was going on. We have not even had Santa Ana winds. We keep praying our foothills will be okay and for those who have been affected. Dad's youngest brother, Jon and Shirley north/west of us were asked to be ready to evacuate and their kids schools were closed, but they did not have to leave. Dad's older brother Kevin and family and sister Lissy near San Diego were also asked to be ready to evacuate and also did not have to leave. The winds are forecast to die down tonight but everything remains hot and dry.
Glad to hear you are all doing well and that the fires are steering clear of you Cornwalls! Hopefully it will stay that way. Keep us updated on all the other Cornwalls who are being affected!
ReplyDeleteMarybeth - it was your sweet mom that called last night to ask how we were doing!!! We were out so she left a message - but I am going to call her today - that was so thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteThe fires are big talk here in Utah. I was at the store today and heard ladies talking about it. I don't know what I would do if our house burnt down. That house is part of the family.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting a map. My family is in CA and I've been searching everywhere for a map of the fires and couldn't find one.
