We got this email from Grandpa yesterday - thought you would like to see it. We talked about Grandma at our Family Time.
Dear Family,
Four years ago today Mother passed into the next phase of her life. To the families that were together on Thanksgiving Day I suggested that each family should take time to remember her in what ever way they choose. As I sat in Sacrament Meeting today I fondly remembered my sweetheart, jotting down some of her virtues. Let me share them with you:
Pleasantness in her Presence
Marvelousness of her Mothering
A Beaut of a Beauty
Sincerity in her Smile
Constancy of her Care
Greatness of her Goodness
Genuineness of her Gratitude
Helpfulness of a Helpmate
An Exemplary Example
Kinetic Kindness
Deepness of Devotion
Sacredness of her Spirituality
Lots and Lots of Love
She still has all of these virtues, and you know what, the time will come when we will experience them again, enhanced. I can hardly wait. Some of you, I'm sure, will think of other virtues - share them with us. Love you all very much. Thanks to all who were in the family home for a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Dad
Grandma was an exemplary person for us all. A little bit - and perhaps much more - of each of us is attributable to who she was and how she lived and loved.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing. I can feel Grandpa's love for Grandma. I look forward to meeting her at some point. What a wonderful tribute!
ReplyDeleteI just love how Grandpa treasures Grandma so much. I thought dad inherited Grandma's gift for words and poetry but it looks like I was mistaken and that he inherited it from both side.
ReplyDeleteI really liked his little analogies for grandma's characteristics, and I think they are something we all can aspire to!
