GOODBYE COLUMBUS - HELLO PROVO

Monday, August 1st, Mom flew to Columbus to help Rachel box up her and Spencer's  belongings. Tuesday, August 2nd the good people of Rachel and Spencer's ward did all the heavy lifting to move furniture to the garage.  Dad flew to Ohio Tuesday night.  On Wednesday, August 3rd, Dad & Mom with a lot of cheering on from Ilo, loaded the Budget truck while Rachel cleaned and cleared the house.  It was 90 degree temps + 90% humidity. With the truck ready to roll, Rachel spent Wednesday night at Spencer's brother's house so Mom and Dad could get up a couple of hours before dawn, deflate their mattress, turn off the lights and lock  the door to the stately place that was Rachel and Spencer's first fine home.

Thursday, August 4th the loaded truck was driven 635 miles down I-70 to Grain Valley, Jackson County Missouri.  Mom and Dad had a fun evening and dinner at the home of Jason and Stefanie.  Friday, August 5th started early for the long haul, 1100 mile leg up on I-80 to Provo, Utah. There was a heavy thunderstorm in Iowa, which was great because it washed the 1/4" thick bugs off the front of the truck.  Mom and Dad took turns driving and sleeping and did a lot of planning and talking about family.  We made our goal of getting a fresh peach/raspberry shake at the Dairy Keen in Heber just before they closed Friday night.

It was fun to drive by Monrovia, Indiana

  1. Dad is such an amazing guy. His stamina is beyond words. So happy for the wonderful byproducts of this trip - a night with the JASCORNS and time in Provo.
