| I love these beautiful pictures from my parent's wedding day. It was also a warm August day like Shirl and Lenore. My dad looks so handsome. My mom looks gorgeous. We girls loved my mom's dress. It was carefully laid in my mom's cedar chest. Barb and I got it out on several occasions, tried it on, pranced around and then stuffed it back into the cedar chest. Unfortunately, the train of the dress was full of black round holes where we had accidentally slammed the lid of the cedar chest down without making sure it was in all the way in. I have included a copy of their marriage license below. It is signed by Joseph Fielding Smith. Since my dad was an assistant to the President on his mission he accompanied Elder Smith on the mission tour and then was bold enough to ask him to perform the sealing after he returned home. My dad's best man is his brother Ralph. My mom's sister Carol is closest to her while my dad's sister Rayola is on the end. My mom's trio buddies rounded out the group of bridesmaids. |
