Ilo Frederick Twelmeyer

We wanted to officially announce the arrival of Ilo (pronounced "eye-low"), born November 30th at 1:12 am, weighing 8lb 4oz, 22 inches long.

His first name comes from Ilo Leslie Smith - Beverly Hodgkinson's dad, and Frederick is a middle name passed down through Spencer's paternal side.
We had a really incredible experience giving birth at home. It was an intense and intimate experience in many ways, not excluding the fact that Spencer got to cut the cord at the foot of our bed.

We are feeling so blessed, and we love this boy to pieces.

    Let me be the first to blog say...What a long, beautiful boy. I am so happy that mom, dad and baby squashed all our lesser sole's fears of a domestic birth process, logistics, possible complications and aftermath. All is calm all is bright with mother and child - dad too... I think.

    What a sacred honor to have arrived a few minutes after ILO was born and witness the addition to this beautiful family. He is truly an Angel. The parents are pretty awesome too.

    He is just the sweetest little thing! I'm so happy everything went so well and that he is here safe and sound! His name is perfect and so is Ilo himself. I don't know how I'm going to stand waiting until summertime to meet that cute little boy.
