Our main objective in traveling to Washington was attending my high school best friend Hayley's wedding in Bellingham. Since this picturesque town is about three hours north of Olympia, we decided it would be a good opportunity to let Wendy have some quality time with Grandma and Grandpa while Jeff and I attended the wedding festivities. It was our first time away from her and I think it was good for all of us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Bellingham exploring the beautiful surrounding and spending time with each other and dear friends. Wendy seemed to love her time with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Madison and didn't seem to miss us too terribly much.
We drove up to Bellingham the Friday morning of the wedding to have brunch with the beautiful Hayley and her bridal party. I was so happy to see her face again as our times together are far and few between, what with us living in different states and all. After brunch we spent our time getting ready for the wedding ceremony, which was lovely beyond words. Hayley and her new husband are the perfect pair and will have such a beautiful life together. We love these two so much! As a token of my love I made these two newlyweds a quilt, which was so fun to create and so fun to give. The whole day's events were just so dear to me as I watched these two promise themselves to each other. I am so grateful we were able to share this day with them.
I am also grateful I could spend this weekend with Jeff. It was nice to be away, just the two of us. We spent our Saturday morning exploring Bellingham a bit and it is gorgeous. Evergreens, lakes, a darling downtown...we both fell in love with the setting of this beautiful place.
One of the best parts was discovering the influence of Pierre Barlow Cornwall on the town of Bellingham. His activity in the establishment of Bellingham resulted in many things being named after him including Cornwall ave, Cornwall Park as well as other things. The morning we left, we visited Cornwall Park and drove down Cornwall ave and spotted many places inspired by this fantastic surname. After driving the entirety of Cornwall ave, we drove back home through Seattle traffic to sweet home Olympia. It was a fun little getaway to celebrate love.

Okay so everything looks beautiful and the Cornwall Park is awesome, but that quilt! You could have just posted that and this would have been a top post for me (and the brides face captured it perfectly).
