While Jeff was busy attending the rest of his conference on Friday, Wendy and I had the privilege of spending the morning with Grandma and Grandpa Cornwall. It was really delightful to be in their company and Wendy loved being held by someone other than her mom and dad. Our first stop was to the Brigham Young Home. We had our own private tour where we could enjoy the stories and history of the historic home. It was pretty special to be in a space where a prophet of God once lived and served. After our time in the beautiful home, we walked around the charming city of St. George. We visited the Tabernacle (another inspiring and incredible building, not only in regards to its physical beauty but the sacrifices of those who assisted in its construction), stepped into a one-room log cabin, admired a pond with a mesmerizing waterfall (mesmerizing to Wendy at least), and just enjoyed each other's company. It was such a treat to have this time together before reuniting with Jeff for lunch.

Wow it is spring in St. George. It sure looks like Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed being with Wendy and that Wendy enjoyed being with them. (I have been to ST. George many times but still haven't made it to the Brigham Young House.)
ReplyDeleteI would not be surprised if B.Y. never had such an adorably cute grandchild grace his house as it was graced on the day we visited.
ReplyDeleteOwen-by-the-way, the reason Grandpa has such a big smile on his face on the fire engine is because... Old leather seats in old fire engines sitting out in the St. George sun tend to crack and split and leave exposed the foam padding. Following a rain, the foam padding will become saturated and provide a cool, wet surprise when one places their posterior on the bench and especially when they need to hold the position for a photo or two.
Why can't I live that day over and over and over again??
