After that was our waterproofing (the orange stuff) with will hopefully prevent anyone else from having to rip everything out in the future. Then we just put the tile up on the wall; Spencer did a fabulous job with all the custom cut jobs we had to do.
Finally we got around to grout - which seemed like an endless task because of how much tile we have - we let it dry, which made it much more difficult. Then we repainted the tub (with an epoxy enamel spray paint) three times, and then caulk, then put on all the fixtures and now we can finally shower in our own house!
And guys, these photos are really atrocious, but they're good enough to show how much work Spencer and his brother put in. It really does look great, and now we get to finish the rest of the room (repaint walls/ceiling, refinish woodwork, put up board and batten, refinish a few cupboard doors, and get a new toilet seat).

Wowwy! That is a lot a lot of work. I have helped with tile and it is not an easy job. I hope you had a good tile cutter! It looks fabulous! Before and afters are the best! I do have a random question, the toothpaste and toothbrush made me wonder if you brush your teeth in the shower- its totally fine if you do it just reminds me of the Bryan Regan comedy act about freeing up your schedule! Or maybe you used the tooth brush to clean the grout! Anyway I can't wait to see more projects!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful progress. Oh that is a lot of work. I am glad that you documented it so you can remember why it has taken a spell. Thank heavens you are such hard workers. I love the tile design. The cutout for the soap - spectacular. Grout color - CLASSY!! It has made such a huge difference in that bathroom. I am happy that the shower is completed, but really thankful that it is reducing the shower with the hose in the basement.
ReplyDeleteThat deserves showering praises. Great Job!
ReplyDeleteRachel and Spencer that looks amazing. You two are quite the team. Thank you for taking the time to post. It is fun to see into your Ohio world.
