Our little family traveled down to Southern Utah this past weekend so Jeff could attend the Utah Art Education Association (UAEA) conference. There are plenty of photos to post from our trip, and this is the first installment. We left Thursday morning, the 26th, and drove straight to the entrance of Zion National Park so we could spend the afternoon hiking and exploring. We coincidentally coordinated with others from BYU Art Education program who also wanted to take advantage of being so close to this outdoor paradise. Jeff's classmate, Clark, joined us on our hike to Angel's Landing. He so graciously helped document this epic outing. The conditions were perfect with a pleasant temperature and a warm sun mingled with bouts of cloud cover. The hike was accurately classified as "strenuous". We decided it was similar steepness to the Y hike in Provo, just a whole lot longer. I think Jeff can be named 'Dad of the Year' after making the climb with a child on his back. Wendy loved the new carrier with a clear view of her surrounding. She was cooing and singing and babbling the whole way (except for the stretch when she fell asleep). It was such a majestic view at the top and all along the trail leading to the summit. It was a fun adventure for our family and we are glad we have finally experienced this quintessential hike! We are so grateful to live within a few hours of this magnificent place.

Cerubic baby. Angel parents for taking her. Heavenly weather. Celestial scenery. A perfect fit for Angel's Landing.
ReplyDeleteWow! To how adorable Wendy is, to how incredible that hike looks, to how cute jeff + reesa are, etc. You guys are great.
ReplyDeleteWow amazing documentation of a crazy hike.
ReplyDeleteAngels Landing is one of Dallin's favorite places but he said we should wait till our children are older, so if you guys want to go again in a few years, lets go together.
