Lacy Park

Our first trip to Lacy Park on the Fourth of July was in 1982.  It was a Sunday.  I don't know if it was spontaneous, but we are wearing our Sunday clothes.  Going to Lacy Park was a tradition for many many years.

Robb was just 3 1/2 months old on that first trip.  We had many new babies at those outings.  There were a  lot of times when dad would hold the youngest on his stomach and hold their ears while the fireworks show went on.  Rachel particularly needed some extra ear holding for quite a few years.  I'm not sure how she is doing these days.
This next few pictures were in 1986.  Jeff would be born 6 days later.  I guess I was content to have Janell tend to Katie.  The Jarvis' joined us for this occasion.  (I think dad still has that shirt!!)
Oh those were fun days!!  HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY.

  1. Those were the days. That was a very fun tradition. Poor Bennett he just turned four and we haven't taken him to see fireworks. Thank you for posting

  2. Those WERE the days. I don't think the Fourth of July has been the same since we stopped going there.
