As many of you know we took a couple of trees down during the fall
It was a entertaining process to see those trees taken down
We were impressed with some of their techniques.
Then came the fun part. It was extra to take the trees so we wanted to do it ourselves. Very big job.
We borrowed MBs Dads wood splitter and spent many days almost all day splitting and stacking wood
We all helped to clear all the branches and brush. We even had a fire in our yard to burn it all (which is allowed around here)
After many months we eventually got it all cleaned up and stacked. We wanted to rent a stump grinder but we decided to hold off for now. We then hauled 5-6 loads of dirt to the back yard to try and level out the yard and put down grass seed. Now we just waiting for grass to grow.
Wow - that is a lot of work. THOSE TREES WERE TALL and they looked very dead. Glad that Marybeth (and Robb) know how to work. Your back yard looks twice as large with the trees down and the fence moved. Loved the playhouse outside - It looks so lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteSheesh! That's quite the project. Looks like you have enough wood to keep you warm for the next ten winters! We'll have to come visit and admire your backyard in person very soon!
ReplyDeleteWow...Wow...Wow... We sure heard about the trees, and the troubles and the project. I don't remember hearing about the dirt. That is GREAT! What a good result of hard work.
