Shortly after arriving at the ranch we were introduced to our guide, Al. He was a jolly man dressed in wintery flannels. After getting his two horses (Lefty and Poncho) situated, we were off!
We spent most of the ride singing joyous Christmas carols. It's true that "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear." We've never sung the 12 Days of Christmas so fast!
Upon returning from the sleigh ride we were all a bit rosy in the nose and cheeks and were ready for some warm hot cocoa. We retreated into the furnace-warmed tents and sipped away at our drinks until we warmed back up.
None of us had been to Leavenworth before so we were all equally excited to explore the the town. It was so much fun to be transported to this German town and stroll along the cobblestone streets. It was the perfect place to visit so close to Christmas, what with all the lights and ornament shops.

Really, really great photo log of cheeks nice and rosy and comfy cozy sleigh ride. I will say my favorite photos are: 1) Landscape Subject - The first photo of the snow covered field and the misty mountains, 2) Non-people Subject - The wood burning stove with the kettles on. 3) People Subject - Jeff & Reese IN the sleigh. It's a good thing you didn't come to Calif. for Christmas. Our 80 degree weather would not have accommodated sleighs and warm hot cocoa.
ReplyDeleteOh wow - are the things you two do really that fun - or do you just make it look magical? What a special opportunity. Oh those nice Tirrels. Glad you are having such a special time.
