This weekend was pretty great. Jeff surprised me Friday morning with news that we had a reservation that evening at the Snowbird Lodge to celebrate six wonderful months of newlywed bliss. Jeff realized that this was a good opportunity to use the gift card we received as a wedding gift from my best friend Hayley. I love surprises but I LOVE the mountains. After Jeff was finished at work we loaded up the Subaru and took off. The drive up the canyon was a bit treacherous since it was dark and rainy. We arrived at the lodge, checked in and settled into our room. It was so much fun to be tucked away in the mountains. Our room had a magnificent view of the snowy mountainside. We spent our time talking and sipping herbal tea by the fire. We also brought along one of our favorite holiday movies to watch, "A Muppet Christmas Carol." Everything was very fitting for the holiday season. Jeff is a wonderful schemer and Hayley a thoughtful friend. It was a lovely trip!
Ahhh... lovely Snowbird, and a lovely couple enjoying Snowbird. You are good man Jeffers... as well you ought to be with such a good, lovely wife.

I happen to love Snowbird. It was a relatively new resort when I tediously scrimped and scheduled to avail myself the schussing of it's slopes one or two times a week for my one year of academic out-of-statehood.
Beautiful, beautiful photos. They document well not only the place but the feeling.
That looked really fantastic. The balcony view looked spectacular. So glad you two are together.
