Today we experienced an almost unavoidable hazard of having children. This morning at 9 I got a call from the school to come get Paisley because she had lice. When I got there they told me what to do and what shampoo to get. I immediately called in Jason for backup. Jarom ended up having a little issue with the bugs as well and was NOT happy about it.
Paisley did a good job letting us pick the nits (eggs) out of her hair which took almost 6 hours!! That girl has a ton of hair!
This is what happens when you get bugs in your hair... you get it all chopped off!
I'd like for Paisley to have bangs, but I wasn't brave enough to do it myself, just to trim about 3 inches off.
We are praying very hard that we are bug free. From 9 this morning until 8 when we put the kids to bed we have been debugging, cleaning, washing and vacuuming every surface of our house and car. This has been a nightmare of an experience and hope we are through. We'll find out tomorrow morning when the nurse checks Paisley to see if she is clean enough for school. She better be because we were thorough!
The worst curse in the world!!!! I am so so so sorry. Glad you had a patient patient and a good nit picker.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness gracious, what a truly terrible thing. Although it's hard to tell how unpleasant it was by such cutey little kids.
ReplyDeleteOh boy what an experience. I hope all goes well today!
ReplyDeleteLice is not very nice and no fun at all. The new hair cuts look fab.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of lice in my life until Phoebe picked them up when she was in 1st grade - then I knew more than I'd ever wanted to know! At least now you can empathize with others!
