T is for TEAMWORK

The primary reason for jaunting to BosTon was to Team up with Robb and Marybeth with some projects for their home they moved into just a few weeks before.  This post is not a comprehensive photolog of ALL that was done (that can be left to the Robb Corns to document).  This post provides a taste of the Teamwork accomplishments.
The above photo is a reminder of: A) Installing two electric garage door openers --- a necessity for moms loading & unloading small children in car seats and for dads who (will) leave in the dark wee hours of the morning to go to work when there is fresh snow outside.  Also displayed is - B) Some landscaping around the trees in the front yard.
A high priority addition to the laundry room was a built-in ironing board.  (Doesn't every home have one?)  This is a real convenience for a man who likes his shirts and pants (and even scrubs?) pressed and crisp.  This job was thought to be quite an easy one as the unit is made to fit snugly (or is that sniggly) between two studs - But - this stud bay happened to be 'the' one where the builder placed the studs 1/4" too close together.  With the help of a borrowed skill saw, hammer and chisel we shaved one of those studs down for a perfect fit.
Crisp, pressed fabric is available in an instant!

A little more light in the kitchen seemed like a good idea.  So, the ceiling fixture was traded out for a new 5 lamp pendant light.  Then the removed kitchen fixture replaced the small light in the living room.
We also added a few convenience outlets where they were exactly needed.  We installed 3) toilet tissue holders and 3) towel bars.  We installed a new cable outlet, more convenient to allow a preferred location of the modem and computer.  Then there were miscellaneous installations of some appliances, adjustments on misaligned drawers, switching the swing of the fridge door, etc... etc...
The front yard is blessed with a natural feature... a rock, thought to be somewhat like the iceberg that sunk the Titanic... only a small percentage is visible above the surface.  Dad dressed it up as one of the landscaping projects.
Sooooo.... what were Mom and Marybeth doing?  They were... sewing, daily sewing countless curtains.  This task included shopping for fabric, designing, constructing and installing.

The simple curtain for the upstairs family bath was the first window treatment out of the factory.

Bennett's room got bold blue drapes with... what would you guess?  A bright ball stripe.

It was so enjoyable to help the Robb Cornwall's dress-up, fix-up and customize their wonderful new home.  Me-thinks there are still a few things to be done.  Perhaps another trip is to be planned (if we are invited.)
