First Grandpa fixed the tree swing. Yes.... after 20+ years the old rope broke a few days ago. With new heavier rope and hardware the swinging - swinging will hopefully last another 20+ years. It was nice for Grandpa to have some good helpers... and for Grandpa to help them test the repaired swing again... and again... and again... and again... for the rest of the day.
For lunch it was blue star shaped ice cubes.
Then it was out to Great-grandpa Cornwall's for a traditional barbeque ...
... and swim
Everyone was too tuckered after the fun, full afternoon to go out to see fireworks so we set up a gallery on the balcony and watched more than a dozen firework shows off in the horizon and heard the loud bangs and saw the bright flashes through the trees of the show from library park.
Wow thats sounds like the perfect "classic" 4th July, with swimming and playing outside. I love the shirts the boys were wearing Bennett wore the same and I told Marybeth that I am sure there would be a couple of cousins doing the same and boy I guess I was right. Thank you for sharing
