Our little guy turned two!
I cannot believe it! He is so much fun and just brightens up our day!
I must say he is not as easy to photograph as he once was. Now that he can run and climb and get away! We had a really fun party for him and some very fun birthday activities. I just want to document what this two year old likes!I cannot believe it! He is so much fun and just brightens up our day!
Toy Story- obviously
Monsters Inc Characters
Balls of all sorts- currently I think his favorite is football
He loves to tackle.
Begin tickled
coloring-drawing
riding in Emarys toys (swing, exersaucer, bouncer, bumbo)
Playing baseball and running the bases
Wearing a helmet while playing football
knows most of his shapes (receptively and expressively)
knows most of his colors (receptively and expressively)
he loves having us pretend to eat his fake food and he loves doing it too
A recent conversation in the car:
BENNETT: Mommy, Slinky Dog
MOM: Yes, what about slinky dog
BENNETT: swing, hit the ball, run run run, get on base
MOM: Oh really Bennett, then what
BENNETT: Buzz's turn
And the conversation continues with the toy story characters playing baseball
Some of his most common/funny phrases
"Down, set, hike!"- when he is in proper position of course
"Daddy Come here, I'll show you" (leads you to where he wants you to go)
"Daddy/Mommy come to nursery too?"
"Mommy you hold Emary." (when Daddy has Emary and Bennett wants him to play ball- we don't throw the ball near Emary)
"Mommy in the car go great grandmas house?"
He loves making lists here are a few (he is pretty good at categorizing)
List 1: "football, soccer, baseball, basketball..."
List 2: "salad, blueberries,
"Mommy, Buzz and woody splash in pool/water?" He always wants Buzz and Woody to get wet, even if its in Mommys cup of water.
"Daddy/ Mommy hands down" he tells us how to position our hands when catching a ball.
"Right there, behind you!" (I love this one, its so cute.)
"Oh Emary cute."
"Lobster, lobster, lobster" being chanted down the aisles of the grocery store...along with other food requests

"Mommy play with friends?"
"Mommy I love you."
"Hi Daddy I miss you, play basketball?" When Robbie gets home from work.
"Bennetts turn."
"Daddys jacket." (in reference to Robbs scrubs.)
"Mommy you ok?" when I pretend to cry
"Daddy wake up... dadadadada!" Thats how he wakes us up when we are really asleep or pretend to be asleep. In fact when my Mom closed her eyes in church Bennett started yelling, "dadadadada" - so funny!
"Wee its fun!" when we drive down a hill in the car, when he swings, etc.
"Whoa big one! Mommy be careful" when I went had to pass a stopped car and go off the road a little-it was bumpy.

Another funny story.
Robbie was laying down with Bennett to help him fall asleep and Robbie fell asleep first and was shall we say "breathing heavy..maybe snoring"
Bennett sits up in bed and says, "Daddy you ok?"
It was so funny hearing it from across the room. Bennett then laid back down and went to sleep.
I keep asking Bennett not to throw his toys over the couch when Emary is on the ground.
I tell him, "We throw balls, we don't throw toys."
I pulled him aside one day and told him this and he said
"No throw toys, Buzz and Woody fall down" and then continued to throw them over the couch.....I guess our interpretations were a little bit different.
He says so many fun things that I want to remember so I recorded a few. Its so fun to raise this amazing boy.
Bennett is beyond fun to be around. He continues to be as smiley and happy as ever. He is so sweet and social. He gives hugs, kisses and high fives that make our days and the days of so many others. He is so excited about life.

On another note: I am so proud of my amazing husband for being hired at the nations best hospital!!!! Way to go Robert Cornwall RRT !
It is so fun to hear about your little guy. When we only see Bennett boy (and the rest of you) a couple of times per year it is so thoughtful of you to share what he is like so that we can keep up on the fun, funny and growing-up things that he is doing. We love the updates and to feel connected.
ReplyDeleteI just imagined his face saying all of those things. I think my favorite was - Lobster lobster lobster - that kid has great taste. Love you forever Bennett!!
