Some of you may have heard through the grapevine or may be completely unaware that I have a paid music gig coming up! Hannah Whipple and I are going to be the entertainment for the Graduation Celebration for the August 2011 graduates and their families. How in the world did this happen you ask? Great question. Well, when I went to Seattle for Ben and Shayla Frandsen's wedding, I had the privilege of performing at the groom's dinner with Hannah. Being so musically talented, the Frandsens performed several numbers, but to not dominate the entertainment, they asked the Whipples to also participate. Hannah is the only Whipple confident enough to perform so I was asked first to just accompany on the guitar for a Beatles number or two but then it turned into a duet. In attendance at this event was the Whipple's good family friend Keith Lue who works for BYU Alumni Association and one of his duties is planning the Graduation Celebrations. He was SO impressed by our talent that he called Hannah to request us for the event. We accepted. As the flyer (which I designed) says, it will be held on August 11. We'll be performing for about 1.5 hours total, 1 which will be more background music and .5 a more upbeat, show of sorts. We are SOOO excited. We have been practicing a lot in preparation. It should be fun.

Check it out on the BYU Alumni website here.
Hey, hey, hey "Jeff & Hannah", looks quite proooo-fessional. And I guess it is if the definition of "professional" is getting paid for your services. You two look like such a fun duo, it will make folks want to come just to see how fun you really are.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun couple of kids who will do a great job of entertaining. I love the picture and the layout. For Seven Bucks - that would be a great deal to see these folks.
